Wycombe Wanderers (A)

I’m hovering over the cancellation button on our hotel…. The only thing that is stopping me, is the chance we may have a new manager, which would inject some hope of a new beginning.

I mean Christ it would be some baptism of fire, with a bunch of midfielders unavailable and only 1 fit reserve central defender, against top of the league. But I think it would be a free hit for a new manager wouldn’t it?

Spoke to a few away ST holders, all of them have used this as one of their five returns.

Is anyone going??!

Quite enjoyed the game. Didn't think it was dire, shit or embarrassing as some have described it. Good point away from home against top of the league.

It's a free hit for Away ST holders.

It was scheduled for the Saturday as part of the regular programme.
It has been moved at Wycombe's request, not TV etc so you can send the ticket back.

It inconveniences all Bolton fans, but our owner conveniently lives down the road from Wycombe and agreed to the switch.

The ticket office said this counts as 1 of my 5 returns as it is the scheduled kick off - not bothered either way - I ain’t going

I'm going to that as my wife fancies a "free" meal and she admires Sharon (generally, not getting involved in the IE stuff) and is interested in the Q&A stuff.

By then its either going to be new manager territory or a fairly uncomfortable set of questions for Sharon presumably.

So you are a bond holder?

Yep.

Must be on one of the fancy packages, as I didn’t get the invite.

I'd be challenging that.

It was moved at the end of July after discussions between the clubs.

It was a Saturday 3pm KO on the EFL published fixture list.

In one.

Do games moved mid season for TV count? Like Huddersfield?

I suspect not

I get the argument, it wasn't postponed

If games moved for scheduling reasons count there'll be plenty games that could count moving forward with the TV schedules going the way they are

Id snap your hand off for a draw

Can't see anything other than a defeat unfortunately

I won't even watch it with the darts being on

Can see nowt but a defeat.

They are strong, consistent, and I'm not in the camp that says they will fall away.

Reckon they will add accordingly in January, as their board will, and should, feel they can achieve promotion with the quality they're showing.

2-0 win for us, management team cupping ears to the away end at all those who traveled down. Evatt with a bunch of receipts in his hand waving them about frantically

Morley strolling about with a half and half tracksuit on looking bemused

“Oh what fun it is to see Bolton win away” is bellowed out from the away end

Mad Friday.

It’s the sort of game we will go and win - can’t see it - but it would be typical bolton

We aren’t winning a thing with that midfield 2. It’s the weakest midfield offering that most teams in the league will put out this weekend (combination of it being a 2 and the personnel).

Add in what will be assembled behind it, their form and our weak mentality and it will take them to get at least a couple of players sent off to even it up.

Whatever happens in this game it won't be enough to get this guy gone. We will either scum some miraculous narrow win or a draw.

And Evatt will be the first to tell everybody that we have turned a corner.

We won’t. Lose and he will still be here.

0-0 draw.

"we always bounce back well from a set-back" says Evatt, ignoring the fact that we're having to do a fuck of a lot more bouncing back than we should

Correct, he's here until the end of the season, no matter what happens on Friday

I'm going on Friday, and I really wish I wasn't, as I can't see anything other than a heavy loss

Yep. I reckon we will lose 50% minimum of renewals by that point.

I can’t work out what scenario they are playing out where this ends well. He’s lost 95% of the fans and the majority of them, he will never win back.

Something is defo going on. Who knows what but this is like making your dog carry on when he’s poorly.

I like the gardening leave proposal.  Get someone else in to have until the end of the season to see who they want to keep and who wants fecking off, then hopefully a decent tilt at promotion next year. Either way, I think we're all resigned to L1 football next season.

It may still be an expense that we can't afford, especially as he'd still be entitled to win/promotion bonuses (if a new manager did turn it around) until the end of his contract.....nevermind if there is any implication with regards to his "B" shares if he's still technically employed by the club (even if he is sat at home)
