Matete is suspended after being booked a tackle tonight.

Any volunteers to play in midfield ?

Don't think the subs changed anything, they were always going to score eventually. Cogley was more involved than Arfield in the space of 20 mins.

Far too open for the entire game, at 1 nil it needed someone to sit in and stop them having free men on the edge of the box, there were enough warnings before they scored.

Ah well, it can't ruin your day if you've accepted we're a mid table side, not a chance we'll be in the play offs. Over it already.

He should know his best team by now

Sharon’s got his and his staffs back except the ones she hasn’t.

They had won one in seven before today and got dicked 4-0 at home on saturday

Injuries, suspensions yada yada.

Even taking that into account, the set up (lack of ability to change formation), the game plan, the in game changes, the basics - it’s all shite. It’s just properly gone and it’s not coming back.

If he isn’t being sacked after a 4-0 home loss, 5-0 away loss or another loss to Wigan, then he isn’t being sacked after a 2-1 loss to Barnsley as a one-off game - the only thing that will see him sacked now is a really bad run of results and I don’t think we’re far enough in yet to be in that scenario. A couple more losses in a row might just start to make them think but until then it’s just “oh well, nothing will change, see you again next week for more of the same”.

That's exactly it. It's not ruining my day as I'm apathetic about the whole season now.

It's not the way to run a club aiming for promotion though to spunk a load of cash and waste the season.

We’re 10th and sadly whilst we’re in with a shout of the play offs the board will consider that as in the running. We may technically be in with a shout but so am I with winning the lottery. Odds on both are roughly the same.

pointing to how many goals or even our fucking XG is completely and utterly irrelevant when defensively to a man they are an absolute shambles.

we’re cut from the same cloth as Peterborough. Absolutely lovely to watch when the weather is a pleasant 18, grass length is ideal and the pressure in the ball is just right. Any variation from that and they are clueless cloggers.

the board unwittingly or not have written this season off because we won’t finish too far away from where we are. To date I don’t think they have thought of the implications of that from a fanbase perspective as many will fuck it off. It’s almost like they’re beginning to take it for granted…

I lost my dad a few.weeks.ago

So thought that was as bad as this Christmas could get

But duck me I was totally at

He has to go now

Sorry meant to say.fuck

Just got back. Great first half, cruising at 1-0. And then Evatt gets 15 minutes with them and the world collapses.

Should have conceded twice in the first few minutes of the second half, but Barnsley were so poor that they had the grace to wait until we could have another run at the bingo machine to make our subs before they decided to turn up and take their chances.

Like an endless bloody loop of two steps forward, one step back.

Sorry to hear that mate

The vote of confidence and carefully chosen words from the board. Plus the prospect of financial backing yet again, worked only to appease me for a few days.

Connel was their capt and having a good game but got subbed after about 65 mins. They then improved, and should have won more easily. Barnsley are a bang average team in poor recent form, yet after in the 2nd half particularly they schooled us in everything.

Having jumped into the evatt out camp after 12 months of being patient, I am now beginning to doubt the decision making and true intentions of the owners. I believe that IF we brought in 2 or 3 1st teamers in in the window, we would still fail and continue a damaging downward spiral. The enjoyment has gone for me and many others.

We are nowhere near a promotion side, we can all see it apart from the "people that matter"

My lad has been getting more and more fed up of it since Wembley, and I've run out of motivation and ideas to get him enthused. Leaving it up to him whether we attend for the foreseeable. Last thing I want is for him to start properly hating it. Gutting to think that might be the last game of the season for us, unless something drastically changes. 😞

Right thing to do in my humble opinion. Force it and he will hate it.

Bought a day pass as a boxing day treat. Christ you lot who watch us week in and out aren't wrong. That second half was awful, even I could see what was going to happen, would have been lucky to draw.

What’s the point of sacking him now less than a week away From transfer window and no chance of automatic let him stew in it now for a bottom half finish and clear the desks with a few exits

It’s an excellent opportunity to make a switch as we could still go up with the right appointment.

Not going to happen though & I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he’s given next year as well. Going to get toxic with this blind ignorance from Sharon.

Imagine being in the youth or b team, seeing a player promoted to the squad and bench..

They play a 36 year old final cash in has been before you, then swap him for a wing back who can't tackle or head..

You'd be questioning your career choices at bolton..

Exactly the same. No point forcing the kids to endure this, will just switch them off.

Absolutely what I feared at the start of the season.

It really won’t get toxic. People are just gonna fuck it off. We’ve had so much bullshit fed down that it’s wrong to get toxic. For what it’s worth I agree as I’m 40 odd and it now feels weird to bay for blood. This man is insufferable though. I didn’t go as I hate going. It’s been my passion for 36 years. Someone will tell me I’m either young. Ungrateful as we nearly didn’t have a club or a weirdo though.

Williams class on the right again.

Baffling why it's taken so long to play him in his preferred position.

I think you spoke too soon!  As bad a 2nd half as you could wish to see, but he wasn't on his own.

If anyone tries to convince me Tomo is a better player than this level, I'll have to wonder what game they are watching, one good half every few games.  Barnsley had half a dozen midfielders (including subs) that I'd put in our team as starters.

Consciously missed today but watched at home. Spent my time with the kids, picking up rubbish, building stuff, losing stuff etc etc. still more enjoyable. Wasn’t having my Xmas mood dictated by them fucking clowns. Going on Sunday but that’s more about the day on the piss. After that I have no idea. Simply can’t be arsed witnessing the same drivel every week. If you were to get so let down, frustrated, pissed off by anything else you’d jack it in. Quickly becoming the same with this shower

Really sad reading some many long term fans on here starting to lose all their enthusiasm.

Lads who have seen a lot worse than this too.

And I'm exactly the same.

Been an absolute chore going to the match this season, missed today,  going on Sunday but not looking forward to it much.

It's just sucking the joy out of everything, isn't it.

Change needed.

Same. I felt awful as it’s ingrained but the thought of going was worse

Airfield was better than Thomason today so don’t get what you are an about also arfieid had played all summer in america so by resting for 4 months we have given him a pre season so let’s judge him from now on . Personally I wouldn’t of signed him if he wouldn’t be available for 4 months Buts that’s how it is
