Transfers to move the needle?

IE says we have money to spend on 2 or 3 1st 11 players.

I don't know what move the needle means. But I wonder who we have in mind. Vic for one has to be moved out ....

I suppose it depends how much, if at all, we want randall

As for Morley, the general consensus seems to be that he is leaner, fitter and ready to drop in and contribute. That view is shared by Evatt.

Can't help feel that getting rid now, and replacing him with a player with questionable defensive/work ethics and no knowledge of us seems a bit daft.

Moreover, we'd be doing Wycombe a huge favour, potentially at our expense.

Wait until the season has finished and review then.

Absolutely this. Evatt described him as "like a new signing" after (or before?) Exeter - It would be daft to replace him now.

I think we need to spend any readies we have on a left sided CB to push, or replace Johnston and a RWB - If that means a decent loan fee for an oven ready one, then so be it. It's not in the business plan, but then neither is staying in this division any longer with players who don't like it up em

Then keep them both.

Don't sell to a promotion candidate if that is still the stated aim.

Especially as the lad seems to be happy to stay.

De-list Dempsey, if needed.

Is big Dan still one of our squad too?

He can be sold or have his contract cancelled.

I get the impression he'll stay at Cambs till end of season

Being linked with Joel Colwill from Cardiff been on loan at Cheltenham another attacking midfielder.

In BN toady; seems to be. Unless an offer is made.

Excellent, that'll be about a dozen we'll have. We've let 34 goals in over half a season, I'd be more encouraged by news of some more defensively minded resources

So it looks like Randall’s a done deal and it’s just a case of moving one out to make a place for him. I still think Morley’s off to Wycombe and surely we’ll deregister Demps but according to Evatt he wants another 2 or 3 in so clearly there are more to go out. Most likely I should think are Santos and Baxter where it’s our last chance to get cash in and on the down side maybe Dion and Sheehan, although if we could get Arfield fixed up elsewhere it would suit everyone I think. Should be a busy few weeks but let’s hope at the end of it we come out with players who really can turn the dial and clinch a play off spot at least?

Or a intimidating Cambridge crowd

Given Randall is now a Wanderer, according to Wikipedia 😄 - can't help but feeling that a change in formation to 4-2-3-1 would far better suit the players:

                                                                 Southwood (Baxter)

Jones (Cogley)                 Toal (Forino)                                   Santos (Forrester)                 Johnston (Williams)

                                           Thomason (Dempsey)                 Sheehan (Morley)

CMG (Williams / Tutu)                           Randall (Lolos)                             Collins (Schon)

                                                               Charles (McAtee)

It's not gonna happen, but we can live in hope!

I think I can just about decipher this 😀

I don't agree with all the selections, but I definitely agree some variation of 4 at the back would work better for us given our squad. And it should stop some of the pointless sideways, backwards passing between our centre backs.

Hearing £1.5m for Randall. He seems very similar to a blend of williams/collins/McAtee to me. A fortune for us for more of the same. Cashing in on Charles maybe?

The board  are as inept as Evatt.......Taken over put nothing of there own into the club since

Loan from the Government

Loans from the Swiss

Loans from the fan base

Great they saved the club but have diluted ,diluted, diluted ever since

It's a big outlay (though understandably could be offset a bit by outgoings) for not, in my view, that big a priority type of signing.

One of the big areas where I feel we've dropped off from the principles of Evatt's approach has been in pressing from the front and recovering possession quickly (not unlike City this season). Randall hardly looks like a lad who'll help address that.

Having said that, those outgoings and other possible arrivals might mean his signing is looked at differently by the end of the month, and I'll back him and encourage him like every other player we've ever brought in.

That's utter tosh.

Go back and have a look at how the take over was funded.

The Swiss came in later; a bit of a gamble with the own, personal cash.

Government (covid loan) was a brilliant bit of business, and we were the only football club to successfully apply for it. It helped keep us afloat when there was essentially no income.

I get your criticism of the playing side of things, albeit not entirely in agreement, but this is way off beam.

Ina business sense, I don't think we could have got better.

plus the swiss are lending/gifting/buying because they are happy with the owners

if only you had saved the club

you could be player manager as well

I think after his last couple of games it has to be Williams at RWB.
