They openly admit they have 3 tiers of fans die hards-call em Cheadle Enders. Lapsed mancs from both clubs as a cheap football day out School kids for the next generation. sounds about right whenver you drive by on matchdays it is noticable the amount of families they have rocking up around the ground as well definitely a family club though a life long bloke I know reckons it's full of young little cunts in the cheadle end these days spending all match doing coke and giving out shit to those around them, last time he went he knocked one out and hasn't been back since Quote

Zico Posted March 14 Posted March 14 also Seem to recall me and a mate being the only ones sat in the south lower in a midweek Carling cup tie around 2003 v west ham Quote

I've done every other stand (upper/lower) except south upper -bonus points there Quote
FrancisFogarty Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I saw one of the UEFA matches from SSU. The one where it pissed it down for a day before and didn’t stop until the day after. There were no stewards about to stop you going from crazy corner to South Stand and the doors were open so we just had an explore. St. Petersburg? Somewhere miles away and there were only a few aways in SSL. Quote

Often used to get decent crowds for the level they were at A mate at school was a Stockport fan, we went to quite a few Friday night games in the early 80s (he lived in Hindley, me Atherton so it was bus into Manchester and the 192 to Stockport). Some of their crowds were pitiful - less than 2k many a time, they were bottom half of Div 4 normally till they signed Mickey Quinn and started to improve. But there was always an atmosphere and the games were decent, and if it was a local game (Wigan, Port Vale) it was quite fiesty. Quote

boltonboris Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Don’t get the rivalry thing to be honest. Not sure I know any Stockport fans although my MD’s lads both played for them and he watched them when they did. But it feels like a big game. The sort we used to lose, but can now look forward to being competitive in. Horrid record against them, but records don’t concern me anymore. Tuesday night dented my confidence a bit and it really could go any way, this. Not even going to make a predi….. 2-1 Whites. Quote

barrycowdrill Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Not sure the players will look to put Novembers debacle right cos I don’t think many of them cared that much at the time. However, I do think they’ll now want to put Tuesday right. however the next 3 games will really show if the previous results against local sides were just a manager issue or a mix of him and player character issues Hoping the former. So, a quick start. 2-0 win. Quote
DaveTheRave Posted March 15 Posted March 15 2-1 Collins, Randall. 24,176. Come On You Whites!!! Quote
