I'm not expecting him to score worldies. But as our creative player - I am expecting him to create. Or at least look like he's trying to create. I understand people like him. But if we're going to play a ineffective deep lying midfielder - I'd sooner play one that can break up play and get us moving forward. 

I realise a lot of people like him - but he massively flatter to deceive - mainly because he's comfortable on the ball.

Agreed. It's all like for like replacements. Very difficult to alter the pattern of the game with the players we've got. We've not really been able to change things upfront since the Dion and Bod days. 

Randell, Etete and Gomes - ffs they were bobbins when they come on. Dempsey wasn’t much better. But to take Cogley off was a shocking decision 

The time for moaning about the squad being unbalanced is the summer. It's not schueys fault. We've only got Collins mcatee and at a push Carlos. Etete doesn't look up to it. It is what it is . Do out next to maje the playoffs and sort the rest out in the summer.

Completely agree, just don’t think Schuey is to blame when the options he has are wank.

Just back and like many others have said if you don't score you don't win 

We played well and with a bit more composure/luck we would have won at a canter

SS has got his hands tied due to the previous manager and his like for like signings.Give him time and let him sort this unbalanced squad out

Was it a poor goal? I'm not having that's a poor goal. He's thumped it from 25 yards out. 9/10 keeper saves it or it's over the bar. We've conceded a lot of poor goals and that ain't one of them 

Created some good chances tonight but also wasted some good positions in front of goal with balls going to high . end of the day we are not good enough for playoffs. gives us more time to get ready for next season and hopefully autos

Not overly impressed with CMG doesn’t offer much . I can see Kent Whites point of view on Sheehan no doubting his passing abilities but ffs he can’t tackle and playing as a deep lying midfielder he’s not for me he would be better further forward.

I certainly haven’t missed him, but not replacing Charles with an option / competition for a starting role up top will ultimately cost us a play off place.

Mcatee ball in for Collins , slipped and put wide.

Morley shot from the edge of the area from a pull back that hit Collins and given offside when it looked like it was going in. 

Cross to tutu at back post who put in a crap header. 

Johnstons cross to Forino where he put it just wide. 

Johnstons cross to collins at back post about 15 mins left, headed down, keeper saves with feet. 

 

That's just off top of my head . Ill take that every day rather than pass sideways and back to centre half, rinse and repeat.

Morley put two balls in within a couple of minutes at  the start of the second half which looked easier to miss - GT fucked one of them up and I’ve no idea who missed the other.

After about 60 mins the crossing became a lot more aimless but before that we had all sorts of joy getting down the flanks and balls in the box.

It's not over. Kick in the guts yes but it's not over.

Created more tonight than the last 3 or 4 games combined. Some woeful finishing on show.

Fair play to their keeper and centre halves who were all outstanding.

Awful result but a good performance. They couldn't have had any complaints if we'd scored 5 or 6. Just one of those games I suppose.

That felt like we’ve finally had payback for the City away game where they hit the woodwork 6 times and we knicked it with Speedo’s pen.

We shouldn’t have just won, it should have been by 5 or 6 at least. It got to the point by about 55/60 mins where it was almost laughable.

Their keeper had the game of his life and their no.22 was an absolute monster - he must have made 10+ blocks. Their goal was soft and shit from Jones and Sheehan, but the lad has also scored the best goal of his career.

An absolute freak game and I think a lot of the comments are unfair, up to the subs it was the best we’ve played by far since Birmingham. The subs did kill it, but Rotherham also managed to get a foot hold with their subs.

A couple of observations other than it being a freak/joke of a game:

- I think I’ve come to the conclusion that McAtee is poor. I really want to like him, but he’s just not very good, and it’s worse because he clearly thinks that he’s actually really good. He’s so fucking wasteful, isn’t a striker and isn’t a no.10.

- Another good game for Forino. Looks very solid as the new big man at the back.

- Jordan Hugill is everything we lack up front. I’ve no idea why he didn’t start, I’d expect it’s because he’s been injured, but from the moment he came on the game was killed. Our defenders couldn’t get near him, they had to foul him time and time again, he was clever with time wasting and just generally has that experience that’s needed in this league. He’s only 32 and is exactly the type of player that would add balance and options to our front line for a proper push at promotion next season if we’re still down here.
