Exactly he has signed 12 players, this is his squad, he was never getting rid of every player here wether you like or not, no new manager ever does, and that is just not sustainable.

He told us we needed to be tighter at the back and concede less goals. He has choosen to keep this defence and not prioritise it for a major overhaul, and yet we are still shipping goals.

I know we need a bit more time to gel, but there are worrying patterns creeping in. At some point he has to take the blame

I’m hoping we get an experienced shithouse CB in

Get what your saying I suppose it came down to budget and were you spend your money but yes we look vulnerable at the back and it’s not been sorted yet  .
The goal today toal got done for pace by a 38 year old

A few notes.

We drew with Barnsley home and away in the 2023-2024 season.

Being a goal up and getting a red card at 53 mins ment they just put 9 men behind the ball and held on, probably did them a favour, as we'd have ripped them apart on the counter when their legs got tired.

While we did draw level, we've got to get better at breaking down teams that do that and putting them to the sword.

I'm starting to get fustrated at the inclusion of Sheehan in the starting 11, i just dont see what he offers, he looks like an alien in this team totally out of place as the game bypasses him.

I thought Sheehan played well today. The midfield was not an issue at all. Sheehan won everything he competed with, kept the ball and got it to the wide players quickly and with accuracy. Miles better than Morley after he came on. Simons was ok. Uncomplicated and solid, but didn’t really get the game by the scruff of the net like I thought he would

Hoping when Taylor is fit it coincides with us not conceding like today🤞

Felt like we dropped 2 points there but glad that we got something out of it.
Sheehan & Randall were anonymous & felt like Evattball v 10 men.

I’ve been raving about Sharman Lowe pre season but thought he could’ve done better with the goal & his kicking was poor v his normal standard.
Barnsley did a job on our wingers but Cissoko looked good.

Not sure what happened near the station afterwards but saw a few corralled by the police just before the bridge….

He didn't because he can't, it's not in him and it's what we need from that position.

What patterns? The goalkeeper let an easy goal in. Other than that and 1 mcgoldrick chance 1st half, they had nowt. What worrying patterns are you seeing ???

I think 1-1 at Barnsley is a good result.

Depends what your expectations are were told it’s promotion so a draw is a ok result at best I think for were we really are at its a good result without the sending off we lose that

Not much Toal can do about that goal. He’s let McGoldrick go, thinking he’s offside, but Conway is 5 yards behind the rest of the defence. Didn’t have chance to get back to him once that was the case. Conway’s been brilliant so far and is still learning, so you can’t be too harsh, but it’s on him I think.

TSL shouldn’t be beaten at his front post, sure he’ll see that as a weak goal conceded. Again, he’s got credit in the bank so you can’t be too harsh.

Average performance, a point at Barnsley should never be sniffed at. Win the next 2 home games and it’s a good start.

There's a difference between an 'expectation' and a target. Nobody in their right mind is going to say they 'expect' to get promoted, 3 games into the season ffs.

image.thumb.png.ab22eb220a65d1bcabee5b55d6c453fe.pngLooking good for us this weekend all our rivals for promotion bar Cardiff got a draw or defeat.

I wouldn't back Barnsley to go up but I'd think they'll be in and around the play-offs, or there or thereabouts

I'd also expect us to be challenging for a play-off place rather than automatic promotion

In that context, a point is a decent result

I'd really like us to sign a good centre-half though

10 v 10

We were already playing with 10 men from the start with having randall on the pitch.

1-1 is an even better result then. 🥳

Well after Wednesday night we are safe to say we are now due a sending off for the opposition!

Should have had a bloody tenner on this shouldn't I !!

We had 4 (arguably) wingers on the pitch at the same time today trying to get back in to it. Whether that helped or hindered is up for debate. But much more refreshing than like for like replacements stuck to the same rigid structure.

4 wingers and there was on Sissoko who wanted to get chalk on his boots. All falling all over themselves down the middle instead of trying to stretch the play and get quick deliveries in to the box.

Credit in the bank is earned, rather than assumed from other clubs.

4 Shots on target, 3 goals conceded.

Still early days with him yet.

The perfect fickle bolton fan in full effect today,   lad behind me almost having a heart attack at mcatee coming on,  minutes later singing and clapping along 'he goes by the name of mcatee'

Our inability to score when we are on top and having a leaky defence, especially from crosses.

We have improved in many areas but the defence is still not convincing, very much like all of last season.

Average performance and a decent result away from home.

Bit disappointed with the defending and goalkeeper for their goal.

Could easily have been 1-0 up after a couple of minutes and Toal was unlucky hitting the post.

Hopefully the goal gives McAtee some confidence.

TSL is the least of our worries

Hoping that Taylor lad comes into the middle and makes us better in that respect

I'm sure it's what he was brought in for

Don’t be a knob the aim expectation fucking target any way you want to dress it up is promotion just listen to any interview with any player we have signed they know what they have signed up for no one has said it’s guaranteed
