they've agreed to play Leicester anyway

some players sorting out their own transport and hotels

be another big following at our place, so hopefully they'll do the decent thing and turn up

I know they have- I posted such when it was first revealed.

As far as I'm aware, they haven't agreed to play the cup match.

Iirc, we had an issue about playing a cup match with a load of kids- thought I'm not sure.

They could quite easily make a statement by refusing to play it.

well tickets are on sale and presumably their fans are buying them

I dont think they need to make any more statements, it's quite clear they keep getting paid late and the club is fucked

we didn't pull out of any cup games, just the one league game which PP pulled out of because it was midweek and didn't want kids playing 2 in a week

IIRC it was Doncaster in a league match midweek and the administrators pulled it

When were trying to get the Brentford game on when the players went on strike, we offered to play the kids but EFL said no as it broke their protocols over how much kids can play in a week

Those kids become our first team and this was the first midweek game so broke their own rules

So we used that as an excuse

Ta.

Still not convinced that they will play the game.

The players certainly won't keep driving all over the country, and paying their own expenses.

More like a gradual drop off, until it goes properly tits up, or the club gets bought.

Them and Leicester getting points deductions possibly

What odds on them both going down?

Leicester have never played outside of the top two divisions, which surprised me

I’m pretty sure they did a bash in L1 with Holloway relegating them

Isn't their points deduction from 22/23?

How long will it take City's to catch up?

Anyway from the pre match interview, I reckon SS will name the same side, asking fans to get behind and be patient etc

As i understood it, they evaded points deduction on a technicality

Then the EFL changed the rules and as they are in the championship they can go after them

They haven't denied it or challenged it and just said that they will corporate with any investigation

Which means they know they are fucked

Remember when our players weren’t getting paid? Some left, some stayed and the kids were thrown in. And the fans were rock solid behind the team.

I remember it well and it still infuriates me people love Wheater who got paid through various injuries then fucked us over. Wanker

Only one person fucked us over during that time and it certainly wasn't David Wheater.

Hard to envisage that for some players.. it was just a job.

I'd quit in a heartbeat if my work didn't pay me, regardless.. Our passion, not theirs, and if they want to buy into it, then great.

It is just a job. A job he was paid well for and a job he would be paid for ahead of other creditors.

its embarrassing how much folk wank over him just because he’s a pisscan

Leicester got away with murder last season regarding punishment for PSR.

Their lawyers played a blinder.

Leicester massively abusing admistration years back is the reason there are now points deductions. IIRC they knew they were going to go into admistration so just ramped up the spending beforehand; they even built a brand new stadium and just added the debt to the pile. Several creditors went bankrupt because of their antics. Disgraceful really.

Derby are another who have abused administration - been in it three times and used it to clear their debts each time. Add to that Mal Morris 'buying' the ground at a massively inflated sum in order to generate income and try and diddle FFP rules. Also a few seasons ago refusing to publish their annual finances until after the season so that the points deductions for rule breaking is applied the following season rather than the current one, meaning they just about stayed up and Wycombe Wanderers went down. Utter wankers

In his interview, SS said it would be the same “squad” for the Plymouth game as it was for Stockport. Not team, not team plus those who were on the bench, but squad. Which basically gives nothing away so I was wondering if he just might make changes? I know folk on here would. I guess the idea of a squad is to have at least two players for every position and use them in an appropriate way for each opposition we come up against - so will it be a different team for Plymouth or is he just trying to keep folk guessing? Or is he backing what he sees as being our best eleven of those available?. Can’t wait to see.

I took same squad as basically same players are available, no new injuries, no recoveries from injury’s, no new signings and no one leaving.

Said and Done doesn't run anymore which is a shame. Calling out the madness in football.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2012/mar/03/said-and-done-leicester-fifa

2002: Leicester clear a £50m debt by going into administration, avoiding £6m in tax and £4,415 owed to St John Ambulance.

2012: Leicester declare a debt of £46m for 2011, built on a record £15.2m loss, up from 2010's £7.5m loss; a staff costs to turnover ratio of 95.5%; and £28m owed to parent company Asia Football Investments – on whom the club "relies and continues to rely" to remain a "going concern".

I don’t think he fucked us over.

He should be way down on the list of BWFC villains. He comes nowhere close to the likes of Andrews and Anderson.

Granted he’s not worthy of hero status.

His actions in the last few months, as explained above, for me are understandable. He wasn’t being a wanker. He was clearly in turmoil and wanted to stay.

But he gave his all when putting on our BWFC shirt. He was one of the shining lights in our worst decade, led the team admirably, embraced himself with the Bolton community and gave us some fantastic memories, when, for such a long time, they were in very short supply.

He’s one of those few players who still considers himself a fan, loves the club and will always be welcome in my eyes. It was great to see him at Wembley.

Again I get it was just a job. It was a job he had earnt a fortune from playing for Bolton wanderers. I will bow to the rose tinted look at his actions. Personally I didn’t like him and others putting my club at risk. Just because he’s went to Fanny’s or whatever it’s called seems to mean he’s ok
