Plymouth Argyle (H)

Already a big game this.

Reckon on a bigger pitch with more space we will carve these open with our new found pace.

Again I get it was just a job. It was a job he had earnt a fortune from playing for Bolton wanderers. I will bow to the rose tinted look at his actions. Personally I didn’t like him and others putting my club at risk. Just because he’s went to Fanny’s or whatever it’s called seems to mean he’s ok

As @Tombwfc said above there’s only one person who was putting our club at risk at that time and it wasn’t Wheater.

Bannan may very well do something similar at Sheffield Wed, but it’s their owner who’s the villain in all this, no-one else.

That little cunt Otzumer was the first out the door. Then McGuinnes.

People mix up the first near implosion when ED bailed us again at 11th hour, the Blu Marble bit then sweaty Kens finale.

Yes this is where I’m at. No one was particularly endearing during this period but you’ve every right to go if not being paid.

@tomski is a hippy @desperado.

I am not disputing KA was the problem but if he give a shit about Bolton like he says when he needs to sell tickets for his sportsman’s do’s etc he could have done more imo.

I agree. Although I guess I'm sort of with @Big E only in the sense that it's weird some players from that time still cause totally irrational anger (Josh Magennis) and others are still legends.

For me, they were all well within their rights to leave. Ken was a cunt and Bolton Wanderers is a business which fucks off lads every year without a second thought. It's weird that anyone would be expected to jeopardise their personal finances for it. I wouldn't do it and it's the team I support, there's no chance I'd do it for my job.

Also, if David Wheater had stuck around, played for free, offered to drive the coach/prepare the pitch etc. what difference would that have made in the long run?

I took same squad as basically same players are available, no new injuries, no recoveries from injury’s, no new signings and no one leaving.

Bit of a shame if Warren can't be added to the squad for this weekend. We're so light up front

I think it depends whether we are chasing the game or not. Let’s say Burstow can play another 10 mins based on match fitness if we are winning I’m comfortable we could see it out. If we have a Stockport scenario then it’s a fair comment.

I think the starting eleven will be much like Stockport but it’s on the bench were there could be a change or two.

This.

I’ll never forgive Oztumer for that Wycombe game.

All them young kids running their bollocks off and that little fucker had a face on all game.

Wish we’d played with just the 10 kids.

What I’d say in Oztumer’s defence was that he actually put the shirt on that day unlike a few others.

I’m with @Big E on Wheater, too. Folk forget he was whoring himself out to whoever would have him (Kilmarnock and Wigan spring to mind) and then when nobody wanted him he came back with some nonsense about only ever wanting to play for us yadda yadda and folk lapped it up. And for organising the first strike in the summer against St Mirren because they wanted to go out on the piss for the England game that day. I wonder if Josh Vela wonders if his career had gone a different route if he hadn’t followed the example of those senior pros out on the lash all the time.

Anyway, massive improvement needed in a lot of areas from Sunday but I’m going to try and remain positive and go with a 2-0 win.

Never forgive? Christ.

Not sure how he could've been first out the door given he played in that game.

He was a lad who'd worked his way up from non-league, sat on our bench for a year and was now being offered a two year contract from a Championship club. The fact he turned up at all is a good effort. I'd have fucked us off in a heartbeat.

Nah, he’s a cunt.

Jason Lowe was one of very few who gained my respect when the shit hit the fan. His loyalty was impressive compared to the likes of Oztumer & McGuinness.

Can see Erhahon and Randall in for Morley and McAtee tomorrow.

Good bloke Jason Lowe. Still lives a stones throw from the training ground and was a tidy player for us. Let himself down this summer by signing for Tranmere though!

Gut feel is he will stick with last weekends line up. I thought they played well and deserve another go. Expect changes if we don't win tomorrow though.

Probably talking to myself but tomorrow is a very loseable game. As is next weekend. I'm looking at us having around 18 points from first 10 games as a steady if unspectacular start. So 6 wins, or 5 wins and a couple of draws.

There'll be a team that gets off to a flyer, but they always fall back into the pack.

Long season - no need to panic if we lose tomorrow.

Can see three changes Gomes,Mcatee, Morley out Erhahon, Randall and Gayle in......If it is unchanged no problems

One or two on the bench will be out of the squad in the next few weeks once Dalby, Taylor and Forrester return

I don’t think he fucked us over.

He should be way down on the list of BWFC villains. He comes nowhere close to the likes of Andrews and Anderson.

Granted he’s not worthy of hero status.

His actions in the last few months, as explained above, for me are understandable. He wasn’t being a wanker. He was clearly in turmoil and wanted to stay.

But he gave his all when putting on our BWFC shirt. He was one of the shining lights in our worst decade, led the team admirably, embraced himself with the Bolton community and gave us some fantastic memories, when, for such a long time, they were in very short supply.

He’s one of those few players who still considers himself a fan, loves the club and will always be welcome in my eyes. It was great to see him at Wembley.

Just think of all the footballing "heroes", for every club up and down the land not to mention other countries, that might have been viewed very differently if they'd had the misfortune to be at a club who was in admin/on the brink/call it what you will.  Our Diouffs, Okochas, SKDs, McGinlays and Nolans might have ended up in the "wanker" category when it got to the stage that they wanted to be paid for doing their jobs.  There go I but for the grace of god and all that, folk only get the chance to show how they'd react in certain circumstances if they are unfortunate enough to be one of 0.1% caught up in it.

Remember when our players weren’t getting paid? Some left, some stayed and the kids were thrown in. And the fans were rock solid behind the team.

There was a difference in perception between those of us that turned up, and those looking from afar.  I remember a Sunderland fan being scathing of us averaging 6 or 7k in our first 3 home games to the effect that fans had turned their back on their team "in their hour of need".

I know it was a very different thing away from home (Wycombe, Tranmere, Rochdale, Rotherham) but we can't pretend our fans turned up in numbers for home games.  Although as you say the fans that did turn up were right behind the players especially the kids.  There was a sense of hopelessness and that the matches themselves didn't matter, it was all about what was going on off the pitch.  Sheff Wed are in that situation now, they aren't losing sleep over whether they get 3 points on Sunday or get through to the 2nd round of the cup.
