The overrating of our team and players is bordering on arrogance & delusion at this point.

And this is in the third tier, when the expectation should be automatic promotion.

Arrogance and delusion you say ?

it is like rain on your wedding day.

Felt like a defeat in the end.

89 mins on the clock we get a free kick in our half and decide to take it quick and pass along the back line with two 6ft fuckers upfront.

So much poor decision making and lack of urgency all day.

They were there for the taking but yet again we just don't have that killer instinct.

If there was ever a day the curse should end was today.

There's more questions than answers at the minute.

Yep. Think it was the 93rd minute, free kick on the half way line and I'm thinking drop it on the penalty spot, we've 2 big men up top and they've a keeper who's been flapping all afternoon. Short pass sideways, back again and before long it was back with TSL.  It was like Evatt had never left.

Last seasons losses do not count it was in no way a Schumacher team........It was a team of kids the last two months

This season has been frustrating, and no the team is still weak in areas of the pitch, and yes some of the signings and the system are not great.

We will be left with deadwood come Tuesday but please do not tell me that team today is as bad as we was in August last season

Time is a healer and people are forgetting how bad we were a year ago!

I feel like we've done this before... please in any way support the idea that we were playing a team of kids for the last two months of last season.

SS has played a variety of formations and players since being here. Across all of it the consistent thing is that the results have been fucking woeful. There's only so many excuses you can make, and so many results you can pretend don't count before questioning his methods and ideas.

Last match of the season in May home against Stevenage only Johntson started  and Cogley was on the bench from todays team

That is two out of 18.   Yes we have changed half the team, but the other half have gone back to the B team and Youth team.

And  it would not bother me if those two got moved on

Yes i do not think his two wingers is working .....Lets see where we are Monday

Big Dave started one game. Sonny Sharples started one game. Sam Inwood started one game.

So it wasn't a 'team of kids' for the last two months. On any level.

Two keepers who knew they where off, Jones and Santos on the beach

Murphy and Matete  knowing they were going back to their parent clubs......Sheehan, Morley, Toal ,  Forrester, Adaboyejo injured

Lolos, Schon not good enough

Etete enough said       Mcatee, Collins  both ok at best

Who the fuck is getting a tune out of that lot

Well, that's not a team of kids

And the answer to your question is our current manager, at least at the start

Hear what you’re saying, but I’m not quite ready to give up on Schumacher yet - if only because I want us to do better.

That said, it’s becoming very clear that he’s not the Messiah.

I’m also noticing that the same people who hounded Evatt out both on here and elsewhere are now slagging off a range of individual players - yet attaching no blame for our lack of wins on the guy who trains them, picks them, tells them where to play and how, decides what system they play in and for the most part, recruited them.

Someone suggested Schumacher could lose every game until Xmas and still not get sacked but IMO sooner or later folk will realise that it’s a team game and it’s what results the team as a whole achieve under the direction and guidance of one man - and that man will feel the pressure if we don’t start winning soon.

Important couple of days coming up and I pray that he makes good decisions and finds a way of regularly winning matches because Bolton fans can turn quickly and he may end up getting the treatment “🎶 Super Ian Evatt 🎶” got if he carries on like this for much longer. I really hope it doesn’t come to that.

In the squad but rarely the team

It wasn't a team full of kids as you claimed

It was a team full of players who had been told time was up ....We can go round and round but nobody was getting us to the play offs with a mixture of kids, players knowing they were  off and a system that give Schumacher no choice but to play 5 at the back.

We were literally odds on favourites to finish in the top six at one point

Obviously, something then happened

Suppose, for the sake of argument, they downed tools after being told they were off, it's hardly screaming good management

We would have been slaughtered if we got to the play-offs,,,Do not get me wrong i think Schumacher is not getting everything right but this is a squad growing.

Not a chance in hell are we getting hammered 5-0 at Stockport and 4-0 at home to Huddersfield

On Monday we will have players who have no chance of playing unless it is in the EFL cup  is that down to Schumacher?

They will be picking several thousand pounds up every week......The club can only do so much until all the deadwood is cleared

I want to focus on us and I know that every fan believes that their team is being unfairly treated by referees.

But good god are we getting no luck or help from these referees so far. They are so so poor. It's genuinely a disgrace to the English pyramid that 3rd division referees, yes just 2 divisions below the biggest league in the world has such poor officiating.

It's not even like penalties or red card mistakes, it's just simple incompetent decisions. Twice now we've had as Schuey eluded to moments where we have pressured their defenders in a dangerous area for themselves, they go to the floor desperately, and the referee gives them the jail free card they were begging for.

It's INFURIATING.

That could be 2 goals right there Vs Stockport and today, 5 points extra potentially.

The referees have zero backbone at all, players go down when they are desperate and they oblige. But when it's our end, they never do. Blatant push in the back on Erahon first 15 seconds Vs Lincoln last week, not given, they score, cost us another 2 points.

When you have the FA apologising over 3 times already into a season in just 6 games for errors to Schuey, then you know something is wrong.

I genuinely believe as the largest fish in this pond, that officials favour the "50/50" decisions to the other smaller clubs.

That's my opinion and is probably biased, but I genuinely believe that.

Good post.

I truly believe we are the victims of dark arts officiating.

Why should it?

We were miles the best team. Should of won. We aren't far off. A few tweaks and we will be alright.

This has been getting said for weeks now, beyond comical.

We just aren't very good accept it

Not really, if you listen to fans of other clubs the standard of decision making is just as bad there. The fact is that some of these officials just aren’t very good at their jobs but it’s not just us that suffer from it.

Think the bigger defensive issue is we haven't replaced Santos. I thought we had with Taylor, but he's been another crock, and he's pencilled in as Left-Back anyway.

I can't understand why SS apparently isn't considering him as a centre back. The brief bits I've seen of him he looks far stronger than our other CBs and Conway is playing great at left back.

Just seen their goal on the highlights and it's incredibly poor from both Johnston and Toal. Johnston has been spun and can't catch him but Toal is worse for me, backs off and allows their guy to run from half way to our box. Try and put a tackle in and even if you miss he'll be slowed down enough that Johnston would be back to cover. Cogley has their other attacker covered so it's not like Toal needed to cover 2 players. Just terrible decision making.

I can't imagine the opposition letting our players run that far without fouling us.

He can do it - at Barnsley for half an hour he never once failed to either beat his man and get a cross in, or find a foot of space and cross it.  Very impressive, he had skill and composure and end product.

Since then, very frustrating.

What has happened to him?! At that Barnsley game he looked excellent, and since then he's been abysmal. No end product at all.

I don't like writing players off after a few games, but he looks uninterested.

We were saying yesterday that we are currently having very little luck at the moment. Other than Burstows goal v Reading that was deflected. Their goal yesterday hitting keepers head and the deflected Reading goal.
Refs are not bias but they are also not very good. The pressure on the centre half yesterday was a good example. But how about the deliberate hand ball on the edge of the area? Gave the foul but no yellow ? Sheehan penalty shout, given the other way ? Wtf for ? If he dived then why no second yellow ?
Ironically the only good bit of officiating yesterday was the disallowed goal, linesman did not flag straight away as would be checking if he was interfering but stay in same spot so had seen something then after check flag goes up.

Every goal we seem to conceed is stuffy and lucky as fuck.

We've had no luck with Refs.

We create fuck all clear cut.

Not boding well at the minute but we've just got to hope it turns.
