Glad it wasn't just me.  Cat on knee, Simons scored, I jumped up, let out a gutteral raw, cat moved faster than she's ever moved, ran into other room (wife watching tennis) to explain the noise, show her the replay, saw them lining up to re-start (I thought) and joyfully watched the replay.  I laughed as I said Gale might have looked a bit offside, the wife said its been disallowed and I didn't even believe her.  

By now there were cat biscuits all over the floor.

He's only started 3 league games.  And the profit we made from swapping EE for Tomo was spent on Simons, so its a no brainer overall.  

Early impressions are EE gives away less easy free kicks and does less of the miscontrolling in tight situations in our half.  And he's definitely stronger.  But early days, I'd want to see a bit more goal threat at some point.

I get that emotions are high and we’re frustrated, yet again, but there seem to be a lot of definitive opinions being concluded on a team / players that are almost brand new.

I understand passing judgement on their performance in this match, or in those so far, but surely we can’t come to a conclusion after 6 games when there have been such wholesale changes. Personally, I don’t think new players can be written off and systems shouldn’t be written off because it’s all still work in progress.

The caveat to that is the defence / defenders. Slightly different formation this year but we’ve seen plenty of them so I don’t think it’s unfair to have a judgement on them.

I've seen flashes from Cissoko and Gale but its hard to avoid the conclusion that they aren't much of an upgrade on CMG and even Schon.  If CMG had played 90 minutes on the left wing today and produced the same as those 2, it would have been used as evidence of why he has to go.

I'm not a huge fan of Tutu but I've seen nothing of Cissoko or Gale to suggest they're any better than he was when played there last season. Cissoko looks like an unnecessary frippery of a signing, neither of them look to have the energy or aggression SS indicated he wanted from his wingers.

I think Cissoko's got a higher ceiling but that doesn't mean much if he doesn't show it

The games against common opponents have been Barnsley, Reading & Lincoln. They won all 3, we drew all 3.

3 wins in the last 18 games. We've conceded the first goal in 19 of 26 (73%) overall under SS. He's managed fewer wins with us than Kevin Nolan has with Northampton who was appointed at a similar time. Six points off the playoffs after six games, and we've played one team in the current top seven. And this is in the third tier, when the expectation should be automatic promotion.

But none of the losses count and we've technically won every game this season. Up the shots off target Whites.

Gale has potential, he can improve a little like Warren he is not yet ready for the first team.

Cissoko is a loan and he for me can go back. He just does not seem interested.

Would take offers on any of our back line Conway/Taylor excepted

Last seasons losses do not count it was in no way a Schumacher team........It was a team of kids the last two months

This season has been frustrating, and no the team is still weak in areas of the pitch, and yes some of the signings and the system are not great.

We will be left with deadwood come Tuesday but please do not tell me that team today is as bad as we was in August last season

There are some of the bad habits of Evatt's later period we haven't shaken off. Conceding first is one of them. Its near-fatal in L1.

Only Conway plays the ball forward, Cogley, Toal, and Johnson play it across the line or back....They still play the Evatt way.

Cogleys distribution is awful but his pace gets him out of trouble. The other two seem to have lost what pace they had.

Keepers ok, not the finished article but  we could not afford that. On a side note Huddersfield keeper same profile as TSL had a shocker today. They are top talents learning their craft

Against that, Cissoko has skill to beat a man, and strength to hold him off.  Gale has pace, and some skill.  I've not seen either from Schon.

But CMG is better than Schon so the question would be are the 2 new signings better than CMG, I'm not sure but its irrelevant because even if he doesn't leave he won't be considered as it would make the recruitment look pointless.
