Lincoln City (H)

Just seen they’ve won 3 of their first 4. Bit of a cliche but don’t seem many easy games atm, at least on paper.  I’m going a deserved but edgy 2-1 win.  Still not firing on all cylinders for a while.

Dubbery, can you take the ball wide and cross it in please?

Not much point when we don't have a physical striker in the middle

Whats Burstow?

He's neither particularly strong nor good in the air

Poor this

How quickly early excitement and optimism can fade. Defensively very weak and struggle to get the ball forward in the last third. Oh dear!

Smaller than the CBs.

What do you suggest then?

Thats normal!

Lots of endeavour but wreaks of 3rd tier football.

Interesting Lincoln commentary - one of the coaches saying that they discussed  game management this morning and planned to score first and waste every second they could after that including Hamer going to the other side of pitch to take throw ins.

All Dubbery and Cissoko seem to do is to try and score wondergoals from 25 yards, they never cross and almost never work it in or make the short pass into the box.

I am not calling for ST'S head. I like a lot of his players & it's a relief not to be playing tippy-tappy.

But we won 2 of 12 at the end of last season. It's currently 1 of 5 this year. 3 wins in 17 stretches patience.

By hook, or by crook, he has to sort this out &, now, damn quick.

Nobody wants the ball in the middle of the park.

Far too industrial.  Not a ball carrier in there.

2 holders and a 10 isn't working.

It's simple if we are playing wingers on the wrong side you need Dalby as a focal point. Burstow spends too much time being in positions other than centre forward

Worst half of the season by far. 2nd best. Haven't recovered from the early goal. Too slow, too passive. Not defending balls in the box.

We're almost playing with 10 men because the way SS has the team set up Randall is being bypassed.

Not sure if you know or not but hes been injured for the last 6 weeks!

Not good enough getting sick of these wingers going for a goal instead of crossing it .

Well I’m only listening not watching but it sounds absolutely bloody awful and the problem is that we don’t really have options on the bench to improve it.

Only Burstow comes out of that with any credit.

Worked his balls off.

Strikers with no service generally end up coming deep.

They've marked Dubery out of the game and we have nobody who wants the ball in midfield.

Conway looks like he's running in treacle. Absolutely awful him today.

Not there today, but sounds like the issues from midweek have spilled over. I am surprised he's gone for the two holding midfielders together again, as good as they appeared when shielding the defence they don't offer enough with the ball, far too similar, it's asking way too much of Randall who is devoid of confidence and I'm unconvinced that he's actually any good if he had confidence.

Wingers need to be doing a better job making the correct decisions, both can beat their man but too often are looking to beat the next one as well rather than releasing the ball. There are decent signs of quality attacking play, but it needs to be paired with better decision making.

Turns out he is Director of Football, not a coach.
Basically saying everything is going to plan.

Presumably, Schumacher had a pretty good idea of what that plan would be?

Unless your 5 ft 11 Johnston against a 6 Ft 3 forward.
