  • Fuck the cunts.  Better than them stood in front of the east stand cupping their ears. Get back on your coach and fuck off home. Hope it broke down on way home.

  • We won’t be playing them next season

I'm early 30s and I always had our main rivals as Blackburn, then Wigan. The whole Tranmere thing passed me by, and Burnley didn't register til we pinched Coyle off them.

But, what confirmed it for me was on my stag, when the lads put me in a (very tight) Rovers kit. While they got the bite they wanted, I realised I'd have been absolutely fucking fuming if they put me in a stripey monstrosity with that ridiculous tree/crown logo. Cannot stand them.

Oh go on then...

Apologies if this has already been posted but this capped everything off for me. If I was a Wigan fan and hadn’t left by that point, I think that would’ve tipped me over the edge.

That reminded me, the linesman got injured ! What a fun filled day.

that would have been perfect if he would have kicked the ball in his face

Sarcevic was our golden boy for a while. Captained the team and scored some nice goals but following promotion Evatt strengthened the team and rightly dropped Sarcevic after some bad performances. The row between him and Evatt that followed must have been a humdinger because that was the end of the relationship and I reckon the malice he showed was directed at Evatt personally.

And if any part of that was aimed at the club it is because Sharon et al backed Evatt to get him out - as they backed Evatt in everything.

All water under the bridge. Im glad he did what he did for us, disappointed it ended in a bad divorce and have moved on. Just hope he has a stinker when we play Bradford.

from a bloke who knows Sarce, his take on it was the board said we want to drop some of the big earners from L2 and move them on - those being Sarce and Doyle - so IEs way of forcing them out and to look elsewhere was to be an arsehole with them, including dropping him for the Plymouth game

so his beef was with the club and how they went about moving him and Doyle on

I’m so anxious after watching us for so many years that I convinced myself that the break in play when he got injured was going to turn the game. I was fucking fuming with how long they were taking to sort their bloody headsets out 😂.

I was also fuming with TSL for a completely unnecessary throw out when 4-0 up because again, I was irrationally convinced that they were going to get a second and then it’d be painful for the last 15 mins.

Turns out following Bolton is tough.

i was shouting as loud as anybody for the quick throw but it was a fucking stupid thing to do

it made what should have been a stroll into something a bit nervy

going to 4 2 4 didn't do owt for my ticker, either

Nah, the 4th goal straight after HT killed the game off, the drop in intensity was noticeable.

I mean, it's fine, as long as this win leads to some momentum now.

not for me, it didn't

even on, what was it, 86 mins, aimson missed one he should score

you could argue he wouldn't have had that free header, but 2 goals in 10 mins isnt impossible

I think we just all have PTSD from conceding 4 at home against Wigan on too many occasions tbh 😁

Yep me and MannyRoad58 were screaming to get the ball into the corners :D

Yep. Was fuming thinking the ref had given them the usual keeper tactical break.

And after their goal I didn't really enjoy the match till injury time started. Crazy really with a 3 goal lead!

We were saying the place should be bouncing but there was still some nerves. The fact our midfield looked knackerred did not help.

Imagine if after so long we broke the losing streak with a 4-4 draw ! GJ giving away corners every 2 minutes did not help.

Does anyone else have the slightest tinge of regret that we did not plough and get six or seven against the cunts?

Anyway. I have been on that soccerbase head to head thing. Still work to do v these. We have only ever doubled them once (92/3 promotion season) so bring on January.

Our overall record v them in the league?

Home: W8 D6 L9.  Away: W6 D7 L9  Total: W14 D13 L18

Add in all cup games:

Home W10 D7 L10  Away W9 D8 L11   Total: W:19 D15 L21

(their scabby league cup penalty shoot out win earlier this decade counts as a draw)

A win January cannot even it up for us but it gets us closer.

Wasn’t even nervous before the game. It’s so clear the Wigan hoodoo belonged to Evatt. At 2-0 I thought if they come at us then we could be wining by 6 or 7.

Yes. I know it's mealy-mouthed and greedy and genuinely "well done lads" but it just seemed like we closed down on the 4th at 50 minutes.

'Job done', I accept that. But I just felt it went flat & such a shame.

Was saying before the game think the home hoodoo thing was seriously overblown.

The oft mentioned 11 years only had 4 games, a draw in the 18/19 when our players weren't being paid and then the bad results in the last three years. The first of those was understandable given the disparity in wages, experience, pace and physicality in 2021. Its only really the last two years that it was a real shitshow.

Bout time.

A strange phenomenon that was evident last season too.

Hopefully, we're now shaking that monkey off.

Definitely.

Great performance from the team on Saturday, dont go on here when not at home on my laptop. Thought Forino was immense, didnt miss an header.  Yes, it could have been better that 4-1, but if you would have said that before the game, would have stolen your hand off for that result. Great to be in the ESL again, but, fuck me it never stopped raining! Didnt dampen the result though. Onwards and upwards!

Only 2077 on last night for 3rd round of Caraboa cup. Shocking that and Wycombe took over 100.

Wigan are not as big as Tranmere

might have been mentioned already

but I've just remembered

When GJ went for a header with the Wigan player that put them both on their arse for a few minutes right in front of me in the WSL/SSL corner

the noise it made when GJ's face went into the back of the Wigan's player's head

I'm surprised there was no blood or broken nose and both carried on a few minutes later
