From that picture I think you sit just in front of me 😦

I'm surprised you can past my fat head :D

We sit behind the barrier thing to the steps. My Dad does not move for anyone and the whole row has to do the limbo underneath :D

I know it’s been said countless times already this season but Christ Xavier Simon’s is some player

games like yesterday need players who don’t hide, want to be involved, drive their team forward and he has it all in abundance. There’s been a couple of players I’ve seen at this level who you just think are a cut above, Morsey for Ipswich and them fuckers in the last few years and Simons fits in to that bracket 100%.

any team gets the better of him and Erhahon over 90 minutes and they fully deserve whatever result they get because them 2 have a fantastic understanding. On the same wavelength but different frequency to everyone else

the willingness to win it and look to pass forward through the lines at any given opportunity is refreshing to watch.

also have to say the move to bring Sheehan on was just what was needed too. Keep hold of the ball, keep it ticking over and take any remaining sting out of Wigan was perfect

I like Simons and Erhahon as a pair, they are not going to score many but they do mean the full backs can push up and with the wingers looking dangerous it has a good feel it.

Forss made a real difference yesterday not just the goals he scored but he did lots of things quickly so there lots of pressure on their defence and midfield , third goal was prime example.

Also agree on the impact from the bench but it could have happened quite a bit earlier. It is asking a lot of a 2 to dominate for 90 minutes especially when other teams react and increase their numbers in there.

Team next week will be interesting, SS has talked a lot about horses for courses but surely best way to get a run of wins is to stick with the team that worked so well yesterday.

Yesterday was a belter & a statement win. Lowe’s 1st half tactics were woeful. The guy on the tannoy put the cherry on the cake. ‘Today’s attendance is 25k. Thankyou to 3.5k Wigan fans who were here earlier’ 😂

This is a pic I took of the away end just after the final whistle 😀20250920_143044.thumb.jpg.b68d1796ab13c78b084c2d695837a988.jpg

My take on the rivalry pecking order is that a win v Blackburn or Burnley would feel like a "bigger" win - just as beating Man U obviously used to be - but the annoyance at losing to Wigan is greater than how bad I feel/felt after losing to other local teams.  Partly because the others are clearly bigger clubs than Wigan, but also because their fans won't be treating it as their cup final and won't be spending the next week/6 months gloating.  Losing to Wigan is painful, the other games are derbies to be relished and enjoyed and if they don't go our way, we move on.

I do have a historical "hatred" of Blackburn, its the biggest derby for me, but if we lose to them we move on the week after and it doesn't hang over the club for 6 months and take on added significance.  The Wigan game for now has taken on a bigger significance than just the 2 games a year.

I'd love us to play PNE but I must admit that doesn't even register on the rivalry scale for me - they are just a nice, insignificant club, I can't find anything to dislike about them, a northern version of Fulham and Charlton.

As Iles commented in his piece this morning, the Wigan thing grew when they and us were both briefly in the Prem but has only grown to be such a big deal the longer we haven't been playing Blackburn

There is a phenomenon known for decades in rugby league circles as "the Wigan walk". It happened when the egg chasing pie eaters were being hammered. It involved fans streaming for the exits much earlier than those of other teams ever would, even in the harshest circumstances.

This was clearly a cross-code thing that came special to our benighted neighbouring town. It was  observable at Springfield Park - not least given they had to walk from their side terrace all the way around the goal opposite the away end to get out. Such was the layout of that particular shithole.

Given our win in April was a last minute do and only 0-1 there was no chance of inducing the Wigan walk. We had obviously not done it for a good while before that. The youngest generation of BWFC may not have witnessed it before. It is always a pleasure to see them scuttling for the exits in a hurry to get back to the tracksuit bottom mecca of the universe. Hangdog expressions galore.

Simons is absolutely top level, there’s no doubt that and what a bargain he was but spare a thought for another class act in Sarce who after getting Bradford promoted last year is now pushing them for promotion again. Considering he’s already done it with Plymouth, ourselves and Stockport before Bradford it makes you wonder where we’d be if we’d have got rid of Evatt instead and kept Sarce? He may not be everyone’s cup of tea but you can’t deny he’s a winner and I see Xav in a similar light.

Nobody gives a fuck about him anymore.

Except you.

We've had decent players at this level for the past few years, but it just feels that this crop that Schuey has assembled are on a greater level and playing a much much more intense and exciting style.

The players we've brought in, particularly that front 4 of Burstow, Gale, Forss & ACD are worth about 6 million all together and are looking like they can cause nightmares for this league.

They've needed some time to gel but you can just tell they are beyond this level, proved by their experiences before signing for us. A testament to the size of this club and Schuey/Fergals persuasion to get them to drop down to League 1.

Whereas the likes of Charles, Collins, Jones, Santos, Thomason etc. none or them had played from a higher level before us.

Got to back this huge result up now with some consecutive wins against Northampton & Peterborough.

Burnley and Preston don't register as rivals anywhere near as much as Tranmere never mind Wigan. They sit in the Oldham/Rochdale/City bracket of local teams I've got no real dislike of.

They just don't generate the same level of bile as Wigan, Blackburn, Bury or United.

Every time I think I'm starting to hate city I see another whining complaint about them from a dirty red and it dissipates

Agree with every word on that

4-0 @ 30/1  & 4-1 @ 33/1, the bookies don't seem to fancy us but I still think that with an early goal, we'll gub someone. These'll do.

Knew I’d seen someone put odds up for 4-1. Did you back it?

Fantastic performance. That first half was as good as I’ve seen for a long time and individually, that Gale first half performance was simply outstanding. It looked like Wigan had worked all week to reduce ACD’s threat and we expected that and used our left as our primary outlet and they could not get near us.

Forino, Erhahon, Dacres-Cogley, Conway, Gale & Burstow all had great games and when that many players do things that affect the match, your opposition doesn’t have much of a chance. Everyone played well

I usually try see some merit in your contrarian posts, but why on earth are you posting about Sarcevic in this Wigan post match debrief?!

There's opportunity to sign up Burstow and Forss this summer for free I think as well.

Loans are such an important factor at this level (as we saw with Trafford and Bradley). TSL and ACD we may get another year if we go up.

Agreed with all of that about Simons in particular, he's precisely what we've needed in midfield for years and god knows how we got him so cheap, and so young.

Re Sheehan, I would throw a bit of criticism in here for SS, I thought it was crying out for him to come on and do exactly what he did, much earlier.  It was obvious once Wigan scored how the game was going - we lost all momentum and nobody could pass to a white shirt for 10 minutes.  A 2nd Wigan goal with 20 odd minutes left wouldn't have been a surprise and would have been very very shit!  Especially with Johnston seemingly out of it and handing them corners every 2 minutes.  Sheehan to come on and restore order looked a no-brainer and god knows why SS left it so long, he brings a composure and accuracy of passing the others bar Simons don't have.
