Thought Forss was the outstanding player for me, very unlucky not to score before he did but always looked composed on the ball and available. Really took his goals well so let’s hope he can bring this to the first team now.

Fantastic strike he’s got decent ability but for me I’d like to see him work harder.

What a game, missed pen, 8 goals, hit post, hit bar, missed chances for both teams.  What a great way to spend a Tuesday night and all for £10 !
home for 9-30, a bacon sarnie and a brew watching the darts.

No such luck for those of us carrying on down the M60! 🌧️ Took bloody ages to get past junction 16 (to go along with taking 80 minutes to travel the 20 miles before the game!)

Traffic grumbles aside, enjoyed that one! Could have ended up 4-10 and nobody would have batted an eyelid.

All jolly fun,  some nice performances from the young ones, Broome did ok in goal, fringe men enjoyed good run outs, could have been double figures but enjoyed seeing 6 rattled in.

Leaving Dalby on till near the end was a good decision, for his fitness but also he kept holding the ball up and helping the various subs get into the game. He's alright.

McAtee took his goal really well, as did Forss with his first. Nice for the young lad to get on the scoresheet, looked lively

Smoggie fans like Forss. Had good things to say about him when he came to ours. He's obviously down the pecking order at Boro. And the way things are shaping up for Boro this season I can't see his position changing in a positive way anytime soon. I agree, he does need to get more involved. If we can squeeze a little bit of what Kevin Davies use to do out of him then I reckon we could be on to something.

Wild excitement.

Are we already confirmed as group winners? Anyway, home tie if so.

On for a treble us.

That says 2:30pm. Bolton FM were saying 6:30..

So one of these 2nd team places at home:

Stockport

Blackpool

Bradford

Barnsley

Huddersfield

Fleetwood

Chesterfield

Rotherham (are you allowed to face the same team from your group?)

Pleased there’s no u-21s (only one in the south’s - West Ham)

Don't know for sure but probably cant play Rotherham and I think it might be regionalised for the next two rounds as well.

Going really well this PL Academy team experiment isn't it

Reduces the chance of the hypothetical Wembley boycott scenario.

Cardiff tried their best to get knocked out by Arsenal U21s, 1-0 down and surely getting a fine for the team they put out, but still managed to go through 😂

So pleased and proud for Toby and his  family. They are Bolton through and through.

I know his dad really well. He posted on here during the European days. If you’re lurking pal - congratulations!
👏👏

Had a few messages off him. He’s still in shock and disbelief that his lad has scored for Bolton Wanderers.

Lovely moment for the lad and his family, one he'll remember forever

Given they are the 2nd placed teams there are some potentially tough games in there. Assume it will be  Barnsley !

But I imagine they will all be wanting anyone but Bolton.

Agreed, on the face of it a tough list and you wonder how they've all ended up 2nd, but time we spun it around to their fans looking at us and not fancying it much

really enjoyed that . A goal fest with loads of chances , scoreline could have been anything up to 10-4. Some decent football In horrible horrible conditions . No injuries , more game time for those that needed it and some good debuts.

Anyone know if the young lad is any relation to Andy Ritchie ?

No he is not.

Toby Ritchie is a new name to me.....Looks a player

Cracking lad, from a cracking family. 2nd year scholar, think he is 17.

His dad coached my lad for a few years at Ladybridge, top bloke....after some training session he would join in the match at the end...and would run rings round everyone, 3 years younger than the group, always been talented.

Thought you were referring to G then! 😂 He probably did as well, bit like me and  @CSW did 😂

Spoke to CL this morning he said pretty much word for word what you just said about Toby joining in with the older lads and running rings round them … and lets not forget that Ladybridge team was pretty outstanding in its age group!
