Just left Euston. Absolute all time away day. Going forward first half was outstanding, should have been 4 up. Second half was proper steel. @Steejay @radcliffe white @marple whites

  • One thing that has been common through this run has been the reintroduction of Forino. Whatever formation we play he is a must in most games at this level, but especially against these lesser tea

I think it’s easy, GJ to drop out. His passing and heading is woeful, anywhere will do. Also never to far away from a major fuck up

Have you watched the games when Toal and Forino have played left centre back?

in logic terms …

Toal and Forino at RCB maybe > Johnston, but,

Johnston at LCB > Toal and Forino.

Great day out.

superb first half and should have had it out of sight, although very gritty defending second half.

Erhahon and forino were immense

did not feel the ref gave us much - certainly looked stone wall pen second half

big game on the horizon at Lincoln….

But it’s a Stone Island suit.

Randall was/is another, probably wouldn't reach from the penalty spot.  Kachunga was great at rolling it to the keeper from 15 yards, not sure I ever saw Vic hit a proper shot.  Collins probably the best of recent years of the strikers.  Morley, Dempsey and Sheehan reasonable without being Frandsen or Sneekes levels.

But its little to do with being as low as L1.  Plenty goals are scored from outside the box in the bottom two divisions every week, Huddersfield scored from the halfway line in midweek.

The laces through the ball, absolute smashing it does seem to be on the decline though. Probably as players are getting slimmer and more athletic but also tactically hitting the ball long less frequently.

No 3rd unless Lincoln and Cardiff implode 🤣

Lincoln have to play us, Cardiff, Stockport, Huddersfield, Stevenage, Wycombe etc.

Just as we do.

Far from done and dusted, but we do need to go there and get something.

Seemed like hundreds of them. All very pleasant and they all to a man clapped us at the end - weird.

we compared the Evatt era to Phil Neal, was very similar

in terms of what came next if there are to be similarities between SS and Rioch, just remember the gap we had to close down on Port Vale and Stoke, it was 10 and 20 points at one stage IIRC

certainly bigger than it is now

the aim has to be top two

the new signings and rumoured Hardie + one other should hopefully have a big impact on our ability to make it

if the top 2 win their game in hand, it looks even tougher than it is now

but with 16 games to go, it's do-able, we have to hope these new signings are the difference between wins and draws

and that we come out on top in our tough run in

but the form in the top 6 going the way it is means we can't afford too many slip ups

A good 3 points and a good day out.    Not a day to decipher performances,  just enjoy the 2 points.

Do you not go to many games ? It is 45 years since it was 2 points for a win ! 👍😉😎😂

I'd fancy us in the play offs.

We would beat anyone at home and can grind it out away.

Don’t be daft! I just don’t think he’s good enough

With Erhahon starting:

With Erhahon playing the full match:

P3 W3

We really have turned a corner 😀

Presume if we can beat anyone at home and not lose any away we won't need the play offs, if we'd been at that level as long as Lincoln have instead of just the last couple of weeks we'd definitely be top 2.

If we'd just beaten teams of the standard of Doncaster, Mansfield, Northampton we'd already be 2nd, and that's accepting defeats at tougher places like Peterboro and Wycombe.  We're not yet at the level of thinking wins against anyone are routine, the fans have been booing last 2 home games before the late winners.  SS will know we need to improve.

I think going back and attributing team results to one player - or one formation - is oversimplifying. Erhahon was injured when we beat Huddersfield, Cardiff and then Port Vale 4-0. He started against Doncaster, Northampton and Burton and we were shit.

If he plays like he did in the first half yesterday he'll definitely be an asset. Seems a stretch to say he's been a key to positive results all along. Joel Randall also has a 100% record when playing 90mins and only one defeat when starting.

It's an oversimplification, and I'm not attributing the results solely to him, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless

Equally we can draw 0-0 at home to anyone and give silly goals away in the away leg.

i would dread the play offs if we were Real Madrid playing against Wways reserves. Tactically WWays would be miles ahead obviouslly

Anyway the key to winning away games is the KO time.

Last season we played 12 away games on a Saturday 3pm and got 10 points plus losing at Walsall in the cup.  The two wins were Exeter and Shrewsbury.  The other 12 league games gave us 21 points - 6 wins.

This season 9 aways at 3pm, not one win.  4 draws, 5 defeats and 4 of those were by at least 2 goals.

The 7 league games played at other times have averaged 2 points a game despite losing the first one at Stockport.  No defeats since, 4 wins and only conceded 2.

Maybe its just a coincidence but our record in 3pm Saturday games away is appalling, the difference is stark.

I just wonder if teams are treating Lincoln like they are Bolton so teams play a Low block against them like they do us

What's the story with Max, injured or having a rest?

Would fancy our chances last 30 mins of each leg ACD, Gale, Forss, Mcatee  coming on against tired defenders
