  • Depends what you're judging your improvement on? Last season was a shit show. SS had to change the whole system, mantra and introduce a full new attacking line up as well as midfield and goalkeep

If you lose against the marooned bottom of the table side while chasing promotion the mood afterwards is going to be sour - players, fans, everyone associated. On top of that we know that the number 1

  • We drew 0-0, let's blame Sheehan. We drew 0-0, let's blame Toal We drew 0-0, let's blame xyz Defence kept a clean sheet, the bare minimum we expect/hope for. 23 shots, only 3 on target

Depending on your predetermined opinion of SS there will be informed & well thought out (or bingo machine style) changes today.

His comments this week about Vale’s pitch suggest he'll pick the players more able and robust enough to handle the conditions.

Hard to know from our perspective who they will be.

On the face of it Erhahon & Dempsey would seem likely, unless Dempseys injury record sways him to leave him out of this one.

I worked from Stoke for many years and they have a very committed fan base covering a much bigger area then you might think. I’m not comparing them to mega clubs but they’re just one of those clubs that you think should be bigger than they are. I may be wrong and it might be because I worked there, just my thoughts on it.

If you include Newcastle under Lyme ans all the surrounding towns you’re looking at a catchment area of 500,000 between the 2 clubs.

In truth, they could both be much bigger attendance wise.

To be fair their reach also extends beyond that out into Derbyshire and the Peaks. I just always thought they under-performed considering the potential they could have whilst Stoke thrive.

Is the game sold out? Am trying to get a ticket for my 12 year old as his mates parents have offered him a lift. No link on our main ticket site so wondering if i’ve missed out?

Give Port Vale a ring. They might be able to sort you out

Been trying that since 9 when they’re supposedly open from, phone just rings out unfortunately… Am going to keep trying but if anyone has a spare then let us know. Ta

Finally got through to the club shop, they’re not selling to away fans on the day unfortunately.

Hoping McAtee is back fit for this. The best we've looked in this unbeaten run was with him as the 10 behind Dalby.

I've been impressed with Kenny but it's then making Dalby drop deep which doesn't work IMO.

Would put Kenny on one of the wings and play Gale, Cissoko or Apter on the other.

Midfield 2 of Dempsey plus EE or Simons. Not a game for Sheehan for me.

I moved to Stourbridge a few years ago, and until then had no idea Staffordshire went so far south to border Worcestershire!! I always assumed it was the bit you see from the M6.

For the pedants Stourbridge is actually West Midlands now, but you get the point.

Staffs goes from almost Buxton in the North down to just outside Kidderminster in the South.

Not sure you get many PV here! Wolves, WBA, Villa, in that order is my experience. Never seen a blue.

Is that 4 3 1 2

With Apter behind Dalby and Kenny

Or 4 3 3

Or 4 4 2

Edited by 1969

It’s a three at the back with tutu LWB and apter RWB

Simons!

My first thoughts were that it might be a 4-3-3, which I think would be preferred on that pitch

That's my thinking. Maybe 4 2 3 1

Fuck knows.

Either way can everyone get their complaints in before 3pm.

It's a 5 3 2 or a 3 5 2. Same thing really.

If it is, there should be no moaning from @Zog1 and  @masi 51.

I think it’ll be 4-3-3.

We’ll see
