My step daughter saw Dalby leaving the ground at 6pm last night hobbling quite badly BTW.  Not sure if its the same hobble that resulted in him being subbed off on Tuesday.  Fingers crossed anyway.

Gale was awful yesterday , he could not get past their right back and was ‘out run’ coming back leaving us exposed.

Schuey fucked up by not changing it half time and bringing Conway on to combat their right back who was excellent. First two goals came down that side after quite a few dangerous balls in in the first half.  First goal right back was fouled for free kick, second no one was near him.

His long passing and crossing is still floaty, but he managed to make a couple of decent tackles without giving away a stupid FK for a change and was more up for the physical challenge. Kenny was great yesterday, his best game.  Unsure how he was MOTM "by a street" when two other players had a stormer - Forino and Sheehan.  Forino had one of those games Santos used to have where he won every header and challenge, and with the number of crosses Huddersfield were putting in, somebody had to.  At times he seemed to be 8 foot tall, how have we played so many games without him on purpose?

Both at least 8 out of 10, probably the same as Kenny.  I'm a fan of RR but I thought he was a bit off it at times yesterday, so I wouldn't personally say his performance was anything to do with Sheehan playing well, he's played at that level with about 6 different midfield partners this season.

The addition to our team of the pace of ACD and Kenny makes a massive difference, great to see.

Gale looked really lightweight yesterday and was completely marked out the game by Sorenson, who was their MOM and someone I would be chasing in the summer as we don't have one decent full back.

I thought he played OK, well even, but seeing comments on here has made me try to think back about what he did wrong.  Being caught out of position seems to happen to whoever plays LB so its for SS to decide if its a tactical or personnel issue.  I can't remember a time in the last few years that other teams didn't attack at will down our left.  What is undoubtedly true is that the Johnston bashers don't see the good stuff he does.

I think we did OK out of it points and goals wise because it allowed Burstow to play every week and score all those goals.  Very unlikely they would have both been starting together most games and I suspect Burstow scored more than Dalby would have done given the same starts.

aye, the injury meant Burstow starts and Dalby isn't scoring goals like his against Wigan

I don't think we missed out by Dalby being injured that much, and it's a good job he came good when Burstow started struggling

main thing for me based on how it's panned out is it's a shame we didn't manage to get Kenny in summer

I think it's extremely generous to be giving a side that much credit for putting in crosses or getting into dangerous areas that didn't lead to actual chances (whether they were defended well or not). If that's the bar for creating something we 'could've' scored six in the first half. So if we didn't score our chances (as we mostly didn't) and also didn't defend their attacks they might have been better off... but you could say that about any team in any game.

Dunno, how accurate Footystats is, but according to that site Huddersfield's xg was 1.16 and that includes a penalty. But what is true is that after the penalty, playing 10 vs 11 they lost the game 2-1 and had four shots to our 9. With their season on the line, and at a huge advantage, they were never able to get control of the game at any point and that's why they'll finish 8th.

There's clearly people being cunts on both sides. It's a totally mad place to put hospitality, given how football is generally policed in and around the stadium. Although fundamentally people should be capable of standing near folk who support a different team.

That said, looks like the female Huddersfield fan who got hit with the bottle starts the video standing on a chair looking into the box. Which is an odd place to be if you're 'doing nothing'.

 

This club can be seen very fairly as either glass half full or glass half empty and just depends how you look at it.

Despite the defence being improved from last season (hardly difficult) it really is poor. Neither of our full backs are defensive minded and our centre backs are quite frankly poor. They make consistent errors and also are well under the level in possession for such a high possession side like ourselves.

I would like to thank them for their service, but Toal and Johnno need to be upgraded regardless of the league we are in.

2 clean sheets in 15 says everything.

However, the team has a whole has unbelievable character, never gives up and are very hard to beat, hence just the 8 defeats this season (same as Cardiff).

Draws have been our bane this season and not winning games we should. However with all this in mind and with the play offs approaching, it only gives me confidence for whoever we play. If we can draw the away game and take them to our place then why can't we do it.

The majority of our late goals are created due to the quality of the players we have that we can bring on. Doesn't always work, but most times Schuey brings on a player, they change the game for us. The other play off teams do not have the same level of quality.

Who knows what's going to happen, but despite recent trauma, I'm a lot more confident going into the play offs based on this season and also recent results against teams in and around us. 

Said it before, our biggest opponent is ourselves and how we play.

Similar thing just happened in the Ipswich boro game and the guy got a yellow only even though pen given.

I don't think it was classed as a goalscoring opportunity maybe?  Hirst wasn't getting that cross, but the foul itself was far far worse than Tutu's, and the commentator said "there wasn't enough in it for a penalty"!!.  And their players complained about it for ages, god knows why, blatant penalty.

Prone to the occasional mistake but come on, they both bring something to the table despite being played out of position, left exposed by a system very geared to open attacking football and wingers/wingbacks who can’t defend. I had a pop at Gale for not tracking, but in his defence, his cross for Sam’s header was on the money for once. 
Sure it would be great to sign top class defenders, but with our finances we won’t so we need to be careful about throwing the baby out with the bath water, especially if we’re in this league again next season.
