  • I'm not sure there was an expectancy of Simons as such, it's just that he was so impressive early on. His form fell off a cliff, but that early form showed there is a very good player in there. D

I think both teams will be happy with a draw and no injuries or suspensions a cautious 0-0 looks on the cards

Players go through spells where they play well and when they have a dip in form. It’s more obvious for strikers (goals scored) but will happen to defenders too.

Conway was the messiah at the start of the season, now he’s a weak link.

Toal is going through a bad spell - poor on a number of goals conceded recently. Confidence is low (so he passed backwards and sideways). But there is a solid league 1 player in there. It can’t be easy when flipping between 4 at the back and 3/5 at the back, with the CB pairing changing from week to week (him included).

Forino has been pretty good, but has made mistakes. George J too.

Keep the faith.

It’s not just a spell though with Toal, he’s been poor for the last two seasons. This year he’s been much worse and panics regularly. Yes he’s done some good things occasionally like all players do but for me he’s a big weak link and just hasn’t come on as a player as much as was anticipated. If we seriously expect to improve as a team I’m afraid Eoin is the first one needing an upgrade. I was staggered when he was made captain and still am as he keeps it because instead of calming players down he just seems to creates more panic.

Winner in the 95th minute.....

Coyfwm!!

Considering we’ve got 5/6 shit defenders, a shit keeper, shit midfielders and a manager who uses a bingo machine to pick his team, were not doing pretty fuckin bad to be in 3rd place.

also makes me wonder why we think we should be looking at promotion

Some pace in that front line if Burstow comes in Gale,ACD, Kenny and Burstow....Lets get it long into the channels

Shite pitch get at them from the off

I'd bring ACD and Gale off the bench when they're getting a bit nervous.

Last time we were promoted from this division we had Mark Beevers and David Wheater as Centre Halves.

Eoin Toal and GJ are fucking lightyears from their kind of mentality or having a pair of bollocks.

They never got bullied like our two do.

With 2 games left, we've scored 1 goal less and conceded 12 more than that side. Wheater and Beevers had about 20 years combined experience at a higher level though.

GJ has played 4 games for Feyenoord and that's it.

Real goal threat as well. Though at least we can expect a few more goals out of Toal than we did with Santos.

Top day that 2-2 at Bradford last time, they really did try to force a rivalry that season.

Schumacher is far more attack-minded though than Parky.

Oh I agree, but it was good to know we had a 20 goal partnership from centre back sniffing around at corners 😀

I think it could certainly be said that Schumacher has had much greater resources at his disposal, though. Second best goal difference under Parkinson (and most importantly points total, obviously)

Ooo I'm not sure about that you know.

Someone compare the line ups :)

It says a bit about us this season that, with an attack minded manager and a raft of forward resources, we've scored one less than a manager and a side commonly regarded as a bit dour

Says how many chances we've wasted.

Not a penny spent.

Bear in mind Holding was sold for £2.5m, Clough for £2.6m and Woolery for £200k

As we did with Fairclough, Bergsson , Taggart .

I don't.

We had a team with Premier league and championship experience then.

What would that cost now?

If the players are good enough they will get us up if not another clear out for next season though not as extreme as last summer probably looking at 5 or 6 changes compared to 20  Monet spent on a keeper and the defence as a priority

There's players there I'd banished to the mind locker forever :D

Chris Taylor. Bloody hell.
