Ani Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 A tough one for me this, I have no problem in principle with a gay couple being parents............ but lets say it is all about the kids........... is there any reasearch to show that kids bought by gay couples do end up being fully rounded individuals and not affected by the experience ? if there is then no problem with it, if not it does seem risky. I can see it would realy fcuk them up, in my old house 2 lesbians lived next door and they had 2 kids from when one was married and their kids never had mates round and were both a bit strange, not saying it was because of the parenting situation but if you beleive all the information put out by gay pride groups about they get oppressed and denied oppurtuinities in life is it fair to introduce a child into such an enivronment, it seems they we are treated baldy and oppressed card is played on the one hand but on the other the child will be getting a normal and balanced upbringing, which seems to contradict the first point. the arguement about 16 year old slappers beign parents is totally different, they would not be allowed to adopt as not fit for the job, (same as catholic priests). this is about adoption not the right to give birth.

Neither are capable of bringing kids up in a normal family atmosphere. For every pair of queers who want to adopt there must be a normal couple who can't have kids. Look at it this way, if someone found me in bed cuddling up with the binman, and my young daughter was in between us telling us what she wanted for breakfast, what would the Social make of it? I just wanted to point out that parents can be crap whether they be their birth ones, adopted ones or foster ones. Straight, bisexual or gay. I would hope my child didn't have an issue if someone on their class had gay parents and would explain to them it doesn't make them bad parents in the same way as I would tell my child not to be cruel if a child's parents were the local scumbags. There's a saying regarding the sins of the father but I don't recall it fully.
