Those seasons between the premiership years at Reebok all mould into one sometimes 😀 Edit - and the Gardner one was near the end of season but in 98/99! Fuck I'm getting old. Same I had last year of school and went through Rivi sixth form during those in between years but couldn't afford to go all the time so I've just got random shards of memories from games I went to and random places in the ground I sat. Like beating Swindon on a Tuesday night and sitting right at the very back of the middle of ESU and feeling like it was being played on a different planet 😂 or sitting right behind the angle of Eidur's mint goal against Charlton in the cup but then never seeing it again until about 2 years ago when wanderers put it on twitter! Some great players, great kits, great times.

Wolves fan at work had no idea about Bolton-Wolves rivalry. Felt old as fuck telling her to ask her dad. Handy that there are a few articles in their local press over the years that draw attention to it so very much not a one way thing (for a change, for us). Don’t forget we also managed to draw them in the FA Cup in year one at the Reebok!

I know a big family of Wolves fans. Mention John McGinlay and a few incidents in the 90s and they might snarl a bit. Otherwise there's just nothing there, in fact if anything they've been glad to see our progress since near oblivion. I certainly feel no animosity towards Wolves even if I did fleetingly between and 96 and 2000. By the way they won that cup match at the Reebok, Robbie Keane. It was the only joy they had against us in away games throughout that period.

From a personal point of view my dislike of them remains but nowhere near what it was, we simply move in different circles now (but hopefully not for much longer). It was certainly still there around the time SKD scored late on at theirs when they were scrapping for survival, I fucking loved that! He said we 100% overtook WBA for them during that 10 year spell. We had them on toast for that spell, near enough every big turning point for them in that time was down to us, it wasnt just the Super John thing. My mate said it all started with getting twatted at Burnden and getting knocked out by Chorley. Then we knocked them out of cup 93 Beat them 5-1 SJM play offs. Did the double the season we came down plus the battle of Burnden and SJMs antics. We stopped them getting in play offs twice. Then SKD all but relegated them. They were out for blood after that.
