Aaron Wilbraham crying into his breakfast here

haha shit yes (I wasn't actually there, had to watch at home with a brand new daughter)

that and a Friday night game when freshly relegated under Coyle also now spring to mind

I went in the Trent End once when we won 2-0 there in 00/01

but this one, nothing

No I've no recollection of this one either (shout out to our unusual, old school goal netting!). That one under Coyle on Friday night, I'm sure it came straight after playing Derby at home the Tuesday of the same week!

That was still around the time I was convinced the Ngog/Sordell/Davies strike force was going to get about 70 goals between them and fire us back to the PL

With Keith Andrews running the show in midfield

Think that fat dude for them played a blinder. Always played well against us pinging balls all over gaff like Pirlo.

Only just got round to watching this, thanks for posting. We looked fairly dire apart from McDonagh and Walsh. Funny in them days that the left back (Dunne) gets injured and is replaced by a striker (Whatmore)! Who looked poor playing out of position, probably midfield.

John Motson commented how Bristol, in comparison to us, were looking like an established top division side, and they did look decent and finished 14th in May 1979.  In December 1982 I watched them at Gigg Lane in division 4, they were rock bottom of the football league. We were on a downward spell too but still in Div 2 at that stage.

Thought Blackpool would have more there than that.

What year did they first segregate the embankment then?

Think it was the following season. Seem to remember the embankment being segregated when Liverpool dicked us 4-1 at the end of the season

One of my old VHS tapes I cant find , to transfer to dvd.

Lancashire Hot-Shots .  A montage of Us , Burnley, Preston, Blackpool and Blackburn.

Some good footage particularly the 3-3 against Newcastle in the cup .

Probably one for the older ones but well worth a watch, however not complete due to some strange copyright issues .....

Them were the days, even Deano scored

Id be quite happy to go back and live that 4 or 5 year period over and over again!

(Maybe not how I felt coming out of that home defeat to Derby though where it looked like we were done for, but otherwise...)

I was devastated that day

Looked at the the away end going mental and thought we were destined never too enjoy the premier League

Like you I'd happily do the big Sam pl days on loop

Think I had that. Does it feature us at Blackpool in the cup? Think Dean Crombie scores.

Yup spot on . a winger with the name Mathews set up their winner and the bbc comentary went apoplectic.

Found this

I was at the match but have absolutely no recollection  other than I remember the new ground had loads of problems with the pitch for a season or 12 , and Jussi wearing no.1 , thought he wore 22 and nothing else ! Mandela moment.

Love it when old footage on YouTube keeps some of the adverts that came before or during it. Proper memory lane 😀

Seems well quaint now as well those starting credits that could mix footage from Div 1, league Cup and Champions League. All free to air!

There’s definitely a black hole when it comes to finding highlights of 98-00, so a rare treat when videos like the above surface.

Guessing that was Eidur’s first home goal for us after scoring at Swindon?

Craig Hignett loved a goal against us.
