Casino Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 Did your mum used to weight herself with the sasparella man too? on occasion, aye not sure if there was another fella with scales in there, as well didn't do broken biscuits, i'm afraid
no balls Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 on occasion, aye not sure if there was another fella with scales in there, as well didn't do broken biscuits, i'm afraid My mother did. My dad used to go mental. Not as mental as the time she bought cheap loo roll like, but still, mental enough to put the newspaper down.
Traf Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Pizzaland was on the corner of the same block as ELC. I think there's a bookies there now.
MickyD Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 It's a charity shop now I think. Were't the ELC and Pizzaland separated by Millwell Lane?
Flannel Truscott Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 i'm beginning to wonder Aye it did cos we went. Fucked if I know the name of it tho.
kaydan Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Did your mum used to weight herself with the sasparella man too? Broken biscuit man, what was he called? Was it Barry something? Barry Gleaves

Flannel Truscott Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 only once, i'll bet was it the back end of the millstone? It was. I seem to remember we were the only ones in. I reckon at least 15 years ago, probably more.
hughmungus Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 It was Wimpy before it was Pizzaland wasn't it? Previously Wimpy was in the corner of the town hall square. McDonalds is evil as I liked Wimpy when I was a kid. Wimpy was where ELC is now, and PizzaLand was facing it in what is a phone shop, we used to park on Market Street side of Burtons and I rememmber there was a really fit dark haired bird who worked in PizzaLand which might explian my waistline at the time.
Traf Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I'm fairly sure that Pizzaland was on the same side as ELC. They had an upstairs bit and you could get coke floats in there.
Traf Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Wasn't pizzaland just to the right of the clock on this photo?
leigh white Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Normans Old Fashioned english chippy was a fave place for me after a game at Burnden, i think it was on Newport St.
little whitt Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I'm fairly sure that Pizzaland was on the same side as ELC. They had an upstairs bit and you could get coke floats in there. pizzaland loved that place ..youst to fuck a bird down that little bk street down the side on some steeps

no balls Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 pizzaland loved that place ..youst to fuck a bird down that little bk street down the side on some steeps Classy, on a number of levels.
little whitt Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Classy, on a number of levels. pizzas were bird wasant ha back in your youth you never did it out doors pissed up
no balls Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 pizzas were bird wasant ha back in your youth you never did it out doors pissed up Funnily enough, not in a Bolton town centre alleyway with the sort of person who'd tell all & sundry in years to come. It's a downside of being stuck up clearly & something I really wish I'd done.
hughmungus Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 (edited) I'm fairly sure that Pizzaland was on the same side as ELC. They had an upstairs bit and you could get coke floats in there. It moved there in the late 80's but was defo on same side as Burtons in what is now a phone shop next to Nero coffee shop back in early 80's. Edited April 6, 2011 by hughmungus
Bigtoe Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 It moved there in the late 80's but was defo on same side as Burtons in what is now a phone shop next to Nero coffee shop back in early 80's. The man is correct.
Traf Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Wasn't pizzaland just to the right of the clock on this photo? Yes it was!
Boxie Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I think that Orignally Pizzaland was on the other side of the road, then moved into that building ... wasn't Burger King in there to start with??? I seem to recall a slice of Pizza with Jacket Potato and Coleslaw being the order of the day!
