I'm writing this with tears in my eye,my family and I came down here to SPAIN, for a short vacation unfortunately we were mugged at the park of the hotel where we stayed , all our cash, credit card and Cell Phone were stolen off us at GUN POINT but luckily for us we still have our passports with us but don't have enough money to sort the bills so we can get out of here. We've been to the embassy and the police here but they're not helping issues at all and our return flight leaves soon but we're having problems settling the hotel bills, and the hotel manager won't let us leave until we settle the bills, I'm freaked out at the moment and wondering if you could help us with a quick loan, I promise I'll refund it once we get home. Please write me so i can send you the info on how you can get the money to me,so as to save us from the embarrassment of not being able to cover the bills. Thanks Usman.

Thats very similar to an email sent from our mauds email address, a copy went to the vicar who married us last year bless him he rang the wife to see if she was ok
Guest Frandsen08 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 My mate works at a bank call centre and he says customers ring up all the time after their accounts have been rinsed after emails like this with people sendin their card details to take payments and people fall for it. The best one at the moment is an email from the "tax office" saying you are owed a reinburshment and if you give card details they send you a credit from the tax office. 1. Since when did the tax office send emails 2. Why would you need to give your card details to get money back in your account? If your dumb enough to fall for things like this you should be deemed not safe enough to have money FFS!
Zico Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I'm absolutely certain there was a story in the evening news once, a woman from somewhere in bolton, can't remember where, fell for this and went and met a bloke in Amsterdam with a case of, let's say, ?5k in it not believing her luck, they sent her back home with a reason why if she brought another 15k it'd be a really good idea got her folks to remortagage or loan or something handed the lot other

Yeah this is a technical way of money laundering stupid fuckin bint! She's now doing a stretch of porridge
