Not employing someone equal (or better than) to Big Sam after he left rather than going for the safe and stupid option

Has Cahill gone on record as saying he wants to leave? Last time I saw him he clearly stated he was very happy at Bolton. Loved the dressing room.

 

What has changed since then? Has he been dropped from the England set-up? Have Bolton not progressed in his time at the club? Is he not being paid very well?

 

Owen Coyle has gone on record as saying that Elmander was only interested in the money. And the salary being offered in Turkey was very good. Cahill doesn't come across as someone interested in money.

 

He's a northern lad, so I'm guessing if he was to leave, he'd prefer Liverpool or one of the Manchester clubs. Liverpool aren't in the ECL or likely to win much.... so its Utd or City. Are either interested?

 

As suggested elsewhere, I think we should make a tremendous effot to resign Cahill for a few more seasons, end of.

When Robbie Savage pointed out he was unlikely to be unsettled since he was in the last year of his contract anyway and he's not that sort of lad, he insisted he had two years left on his contract and we are obviously trying to sell him because we've just bought Derek Boyata (whoever he is) from Man City.

For me Wenger is a fucking hypocrite, the ammount of times they bitched and moaned about Barcas low offers for Fabregas. He is a fucking tit.

 

The best thing is that Arsenal still think that they can get Cahill for free next year.

 

If Cahill is available for free next summer then there will be Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea in front of them in the que at that price. There is a good chance that either Liverpool or Spurs will snag that 4th Champions league spot ahead of spurs this season which would put them ahead of Arsenal too.

I've not seen enough of him to know whether he is good enough to be a 1st choice centre back (then again I've seen enough of Knight to know that he's not, yet he's still in the team).

 

Everything I've heard from anyone to do with City is that he is a very good player and will only get better, but he is a better centre back then he is a full back.

 

Boyata and Wheater maybe?
