If Bendtner signed for us he would be best striker we have by a country mile and if he started every match would get 10 goals minimum in PL. Too many people beleive he is shit because hes not a fancy

taking the mickey big time is that

Legend #wengerisabell

I recon Bolton will hold out for 10 mil

Does it at least give some indication the bid is genuine and not just bullshit bingo from t'papers?

"There was a conversation between [the Bolton chairman] Phil Gartside and a representative of Arsenal," said Coyle. "I'm only passing this on as a third party, but the word derisory doesn't even cover it. When I make an offer for a player, I'd like to think in the right ball park, but this wasn't even close.

For all the humour etc, one thing is deeply worrying:

- they'll probably come back with something we might be tempted by 10 minutes before the deadline.

biggest hypocrites in the league 2 years they haggled with barca over fabregas.tell him we'll swap him for sagna and 8m,feckin cheese eatin surrender monkey.

Everyone in football knows that Cahill wants to go, that we want to sell, and that we let Elmander walk away for nothing at the end of his contract.

With those three things in mind, nobody is going to start the bidding anywhere near our valuation.

Say Arsenal come back with an ?8m bid next week. It'd be nice to tell them to fuck off, but let's have it right - that would effectively mean we were paying Cahill around ?300k a week for the rest of the season.

And then there'd be a fair chance of him finishing up at Arsenal anyway.

We'll look like chumps if he goes for next to nowt, but I think it'll be a no-brainer in the end.

I would love it if we extended Cahills contract we would then be in a much better position, it is time for Coyle to use his silver tongue and talk Cahill into re-signing, Arsenal nicked David Jack and stole Bartley if I was Gartside I would sell to any one but Arsenal.

Arsene hits back with:

Wenger says the reported 6m bid for Cahill is a wrong figure and negotiations should be between the two clubs

'They don't need [have] to sell the player ... Why should they feel insulted?' (though dunno if what amount of a bid that is in reference too, if indeed as he says the ?6m is incorrect"

anyway

if Arsenal want him now they're still going to have to pay good money

he'll be out of contract next season and if Arsenal aren't in the CL, which is very feasible, then he may opt to go elsewhere if it came to it

Disgaceful bid that, but he'll be an Arsenal player in the next week or so. Hope not, but they're afte him and we won't want an unhappy player who wants a move and knows a club like Arsenal want him.

Is Cahill unhappy?

Is Cahill unhappy?

not yet

Is Cahill unhappy?

He will be gutted, I'd be disappointed, Champions League, improve England chances, more money, not to mention playing with better players.

From Sam Wallace at the Independant:

"Wenger denying that bid for Cahill is as low as #bwfc claim. On Gartside: 'If he says that I'm lying, I'm ready to confront him' #afc"

in any outcome, I don't think we'll be getting any more Arsenal youth on loan

Just wondering. I'm not sure I'd put Arsenal at the top of my wish list either. I've a mate who's a Gooner and his daily updates make me quite happy to be a Wanderer.

and in the season before Euro 2012 too

Gartside has now deleted his #wengerisabell tweet

Can Cahill not be hawked to PSG?

What they like for centre-backs?

wenger is a bell

wenger is a bell

phil gartside has told us all

wenger is a bell .

ooh ooh , how do i start a songthread . when do we play em ?

It was funny and the truth, but not wise from Gartside.

If Cahill doesn't fancy abroad, then Arsenal are the best he could get along with City and Spurs, United don't need him, Chelsea have Luiz, Terry, Alex etc.

Even without Fabregas and Nasri, Arsenal have some great players and he should develop is game there, Arsenal ain't going to change their passing style, Cahill is good with the ball, think he'll be a success there.

i would rather him leave on a free at the end of the season than sell now on the cheep .if he leaves now and it leaves us with little money to replace the season could turn into a disaster if he stays and helps us push up the table its worth risking him walking in a year

To the tune of KC and the Sunshine Band:

You're a bell, you're a bell, Wenger you're a bell
