MickyD Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Er, I don't smoke, would I still get the same enjoyment?
no balls Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 you can smoke seems to be swinging it Which I presume was ironic in relation to the breath of fresh air comment.
Ratwhite Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 having watched wanderers home and away over the last 35 years i finally had enough of goingto the reebok watching premiership football ive met some top top people and had some great times but the reebok and premiership football is shit. at the end of last season i went with a few other whites to watch chorley, what a breath of fresh air, standing on a terrace no police/stewards telling you what to do, decent competitive football, you can smoke on the terrace. the best bit about it is they play to win every week. they leave men on the half way line when the other team have a corner i'll always want the wanderers to win and love the club, but from now on its non league football all the way No what, i was going to start a very similar thread. I have also watching the whites for forty years and yesterday being my first match of this season (due to holidays), i was buzzing in the morning with the usual anticipation. Come 3.45 i was not only pissed off, but was actually thinking, i cant do this anymore..Even had a go at the lad serving ale behind the counter cos he laughed when the second goal went in. He was only a kid for feck sake. Didnt enjoy the match, thought we were clueless and am thinking do in really need all this stress.. Hearing someone else say it first makes me feel i am right.. Not arsed about the season ticket prices or the money players earn, i just want to see some commitment and enjoy the day. Not going to Villa or the Arse, maybe two weeks will make me feel different.
beer_swiller Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Money money money. Both Real and Barca are no longer the wealth of La Liga, Malaga are the money bags and will challenge for that title. Malaga wont win La Liga this time but they will give the second place team a run. Scottish football should never be compared with the Premier league because Scottish football is no better than amature. Apart from the two Glasgow teams, and they are both utter shite, the rest are no better than a 1st division side.
Ratwhite Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Never compare the Premier league with Scottish football as that`s a fuckin joke. Spanish league again will be contested by two clubs, plus the points difference in that league from second club to third will be massive. It wont be in this league. Again it`s all down to money, Megson was backed more than Coyle will ever be, trouble is Megson spent it all. To be honest, Fester aint the only fan with similar feelings, Iv`e had them for years but still remain on the season ticket list. One thing that DOES stand out is the lack of commitment from certain players. Midfield is painfully woeful and I for one would re-instate Muamba if only for his enthusiasm. It`s too early to fear the worst but the warning signs are clearly evident. Here fuckin here. Well said that man. Midfield should be Holden, Davies, Muamba, Petrov(or Tuncay) Reo-cocker, Eagles and Pratley are Littlewoods cup / bench material like Blake.

RUREADY2ROLL Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I am Bolton born and bred but been living in the Worcester area for over 20 years. Will only ever be one team for me and although I see a day out at a non league club a change I am sure I wouldn't have the same passion and definately couldn't do it whilst MY club are playing. When we go through a bad patch I get depressed and angry and swear not to go again but I love Bolton Wanderers. Players and Managers come and go but hopefully MY club will be there up to the point I pass away and beyond. I dont go every game because ticket prices are ridiculous and at the moment players wages are a disgrace. But nothing will deter me from following the whites and I will be there at Villa Park Tuesday night as optimistic as ever COYWM
no balls Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 (edited) I dont go every game because ticket prices are ridiculous Really? Edited September 18, 2011 by no balls
RUREADY2ROLL Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Really? Yes really - for me to get to the Reebok its ?50 return in petrol for a starters; and sometimes 3 hours there and a couple of hours back Ok when you are within 30 minutes to the BOK

Just wanted to clarify as I feel that compared to other premier league teams, we don't do too bad.
hughmungus Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 (edited) I said I'd never go again after the Stoke debacle and because of the poor signings made during the transfer window none of which have set the world on fire, but I got loads off various posters on here so I decided to come back and went to a couple of games. Big mistake total waste of money and time, I support my team through good and bad but when it's so blindingly obvious that we are in the shit then not even you lovely people can convince me to throw my money at this shite. hughmungus Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 Is the contradiction in that sentence there on purpose? Yes there is but it's a sign of how bad I think it is, I've watched much poorer sides wearing the White shirt but not any that contain millionaires and internationals who clearly can't be arsed.
james phillips Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 You may as well be changing your allegiance to Man U, City, Liverpool or Everton, Wigan, Blackburn or PNE as change it to Chorley. All of them are fairly local. You have no geographical tie with any of them. It's Bolton or nothing for me. 100%
james phillips Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 So, it's not the tickets then. Just wanted to clarify as I feel that compared to other premier league teams, we don't do too bad. ?50 quid for me and the lad for a ninety min let down is expensive in any pocket.Disregarding what any other club charge. Its a football game for christ sake.
Guest Biff Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I have to agree with the majority on this thread. I live on the Chorley border but really wouldn't go as I have no allegience to them & find it most odd that Bolton born and bred folk are bobbing over the border to watch Chorley. Still each to their own if they want even though I dont understand the logic behind it. I agree with the majority as well. I was born in Chorley and regularly watched Chorley as a young boy. My mate's grandad was a director of Chorley. I've watched them in their good days and their bad days and will continue to look out for their results. I do find it odd that people from this board are now switching their allegiance to them. Why didn't they do so two seasons ago when Chorley were floundering at the bottom of the league flirting with relegation to the North West Counties league. They really are no different from the typical DMB fans.
Guest Biff Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 you can smoke seems to be swinging it Actually you can't smoke anywhere you like in the ground at Chorley. The designated smoking area is in front of the social club. I accept that people may well be smoking on the terraces but that is only because the law is not being enforced.

beer_swiller Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 One last point relating to Festers greviences, the Klasnic sending off. Whilst rules state the obvious, the Norwich player should have also have walked for his diabolical deliberate attempt to get a fellow pro sent off. Not only is it ruining the game it also spoils it from a spectators view. Just watching spurs V Scousers and already it`s a debacle as two scousers sent off.
