Fairly certain no one is arsed, but we're still buzzing so I'm telling you all anyway.  We got incredibly lucky, thankfully! Weather was spot on and it properly set the tone for a perfect day, co

So far as I know it's been dry hear since early morning

Just cut and fed the lawn in bright sunshine

Forecast was way worse than this, though it's still saying some rain at 3 ish which can nicely water in the feed

Lawn is currently 80% green..some round here look like bare wasteland

It briefly wazzed it down about an hour and a half or so ago.

Could see the black clouds coming.

Just been out for some elderflowers now the sun is shining.

Honestly, it may have missed me

Bone dry outside, granted the warmish wind and sun do help

Only lasted about a minute!

Was delivering gippers' shopping so I needed the wipers. Otherwise, I might not have noticed either.

Fair enough

Could do with another 10 minutes

Might set off with the hound, that'll bring it on

Bit darker over Bury now, may have got away with one.

Just look over to the west/south west.

I'll be going with the hounds shortly come what may. Rain is a boon as it keeps the non distancing folk indoors.

That's winter hill?

I usually work on being able to see the hill clearly as being decent weather

But these clouds are them funny ones :)

Speed of the wind isn't helping, hard to judge how quickly it's going to come or go.

Yep, just been up winter hill with the dog myself, looked fairly busy on top of the pike but was windy as fuck out with the odd shower so most of the routes I was using were clear of the feckers that have been told it's a nice place to go whilst you wait for the bastard Trafford Centre to open again.

Looks like it's going to bucket down overnight then be dry-ish for the next week

Aye, get it open again sharpish. :)

Apart from work, furthest we've been is half way to Radcliffe, and it's lead to all and sundry out, trying to lose weight to make their breathing easier.

I suspect you'll have some shrinkage gaps between the strips.

If so, get a bit of top dressing and fill the gap. The grass will quickly cover it.

I've over fed mine I think

Put some seed on and it looks black / burnt

I reckon if it doesn't go past black you've got away with it

Get the lawn rake out

Anyway, no watering required on the lawn this weekend

Might stand a good sanding soon though

This weather is shite

You shouldn't be feeding new turf too much, if at all- it needs to establish, and in drought, don't feed at all.

Only water.

More rain please 😊

Last two evenings have been easily the best time of the day

My legs are starting to peel, more sun please

After a lazy hungover day I'd managed to convince myself that it was a bit gloomy outside somehow. Plucked up the energy to get the dog out at about 6.30/7 and it was a belting summers evening as you say. So much so it encouraged me to crack open some JAIPUR when I got back in. 🖒

Seconded. That’s the one I use. Pretty much spot on most of the time

How long is a piece of string question that. So long as it's not entirely dead, then yes some will come back, and gradually fill in over time.

If it's only a bit dead, this will happen fairly quickly, depends upon what you are prepared to put up with really.

This time next year, you'll have a little one, and might want to sit on some quality grass and let the baby experience it.

If the lawn is really that bad, it won't be fully repaired before then- so perhaps that could be your guide.

A regime of preparation and overseed may be in order.
