How long is a piece of string question that. So long as it's not entirely dead, then yes some will come back, and gradually fill in over time.

If it's only a bit dead, this will happen fairly quickly, depends upon what you are prepared to put up with really.

This time next year, you'll have a little one, and might want to sit on some quality grass and let the baby experience it.

If the lawn is really that bad, it won't be fully repaired before then- so perhaps that could be your guide.

A regime of preparation and overseed may be in order.

Thunder storms in West Midlands have gone through Cheshire and Birkenhead and seem to be dying out now.

Still time I suppose, but the weather man just said north west/Lancashire and Yorkshire will get them tomorrow.
