Fairly certain no one is arsed, but we're still buzzing so I'm telling you all anyway.  We got incredibly lucky, thankfully! Weather was spot on and it properly set the tone for a perfect day, co

You lot are spoilt with water supplies tapped off lakes. Involved in multi million pound schemes to transfer water around Dem & Cornwall at present

We get ours in Leigh from a little well in Golborne.

She's just looked at long range weather forecast for next two weeks in Bolton.

Rain overnight, then nothing. Temperature in late teens to 20 degrees everyday.

I've got a shrub that's dried up in a customer's garden and a tree adjacent to it (in their neighbour's) going the same way.

Also saw an oak and hazel tree both with lower branches with crisped up leaves.

Himalayan balsam all over wilting away together with some knotweed (no bad thing).

From a plant's perspective, were already entering a bit of a drought.

Rumworth lodge relatively low considering it's still spring.

Another hot summer, and restrictions are almost a cert.

Buy a water butt.

From one extreme to the other!

That's a bold, Daily Expess-style, statement!

Just out for a walk. Winds something else. Nice dousing of sea spray for my troubles.

Seems to be calming a touch

And brightening

Chance of a Friday burn yet

Getting fecking worse here.

Looking towards winter hill it does look a bit greyer

Wind drops it'll be fine

My app says bright sun at 5. Which looks unlikely

After a few hours gardening in the warmth of Wednesday morning, I spent 4 hours at the walk in centre to have blisters lanced off my shoulders and I was informed that, once it heals, my skin will have strength equivalent to a baby for the next 2 years so need to cover where possible and wear factor 50. Baz Luhrmann wasn’t wrong.

My first foreign holiday was magaluf 87

All afternoon in the pool

No sun cream

It wasn't a good idea

I’ve always sunburnt badly so I make sure I’m pretty covered until 3/4pm - if it’s super hot (and the sun is strong in May) I’m not even risking it with sun cream until late afternoon - plus I only use factor 50! Had too many holidays ruined by sunburn.

Looking like we’re in for a belting week coming up

This wind can fuck right off

have you seen all the Leaves all over the roads

Only ever bother with factor 50. Seen skin cancer on a relative and a neighbour had a bit removed from his swede.

Bedlam mate.

Seen the size of that storm in Western Australia?

@bolty58 getting a bit breezy?

Been expecting doom and pestilence after making the sad mistake of listening to local media. To use a Traffism - they're all cunts. Everything bulled up to the max with words like 'crisis', 'apocalyptic' and 'once in a century'. I might be slightly previous but just fuck off you hyperventilating, exaggerating cunts..

4pm here now and I've experienced worse at The Rec in Aldershot on a wet Tuesday night.

Friend in Perth says a tree lost some branches and they had no power for a bit.

excellent news now that lockdown is over.

What time is the pub open?

Where does one park for the best starting point For a good walk up Rivi? Or are there better walks to be had to make the most of the weather?

Lower barn is usually good but will be busy.

As a Horwich resident I walk from my house and would usually suggest a few pints in town later. But 😢

Alternatively, park near Rivvy school and walk up from there.

Belmont car park, walk up the path up the steps through the gardens to the pigeon tower then to the pike.

Going off this afternoon on the paths around Starmount, I reckon you'd be safer having a walk in a covid ward!!

Stay clear of the masses. Park on Belmont road and fuck off up great hill and come down the other side into white coppice. Might be a few folk down that way near the cricket club, but nothing like the main areas.

I prefer a walk up Winter Hill than Rivi & it's mostly a bit quieter.

Park in Belmont, walk towards Bolton just past San Marino Italian, turn right at obvious gate & path & follow up to the top.

At the bench at the top, (a) turn right for about 100 yds at the same height, then turn right again down hill, there is a path, & at the bottom at the end of Blue Lagoon & walk round BG back into Belmont. Just over a hour.

or (b) carry straight on past Scotch Man's stump & the mast, about 100 yds down the road, turn left at marked path & follow it across the top & gradually down onto Coal Pit Rd, Scout Rd & then back onto Belmont Rd back to Belmont. About 1 3/4 hours,
