I agree with that Ratters but we all move on with a handshake with no bitterness & dignity from all concerned.

My son and Jussi's trained together at Fred Barber's goalkeeping school. One day one of the lads turned up without any gloves. Unprompted Jussi disappeared and returned with a brand new pair of expensive looking gloves of William's which he gave to the lad to keep. Sure they probably cost him nothing, but he didn't have to do it, and he certainly didn't do it for any plaudits, just a genuine act from a guy who kept himself to himself and was content in walking the dog whilst the kids trained. Thanks and good luck Jussi, finest Bolton keeper in my 40 years watching the Whites.

saw him in pizza express when i was with my wife and my daughter who was about 16 months at the time, and he was with his family. My wife was egging me on to talk to him, but given his bad rep i decided not too. wish i had now so i could add to this debate!

I think folk often confuse shyness with arrogance. Spoke to him at the PotY awards last year and he seemed like a nice enough chap.

He's a Wanderers legend no doubt, and I wish him all the best but I'm not overly fussed he's moving. His best days are well behind him now. IMO there's very little between him and Bogdan, but at least Bogdan has the potential to get better, Jussi will only get worse. I'd imagine Bogdan's salary is also a fraction of what Jussi's was.

did anyone ever manage to find a clip of that double save?

If Jussi is going it's truly the end of an era with him and Ricardo going in the same summer and the club being relegated

It's the start of a bright new era.

We'll be Champions League winners in 10 years time...

Dont let the truth get in the way of a good story

what did the horrible twat do when you approached him in pizza express?

Jussi in my books goes down as a bwfc legend. Over 500 games most in the top division and in our most successful period of 50 plus years. You can't argue with that. The double save at United and the 2 penalties at Blackburn were amazing days.

Thank you Jussi and all the best.

Your forgetting the rule that he can't be a legend because he was very well paid and as such was a mercinary.

If however he had done it all for ?300 a week then he would be able to be classed as a legend.

jsl

I can't understand all the bad press Jussi gets, I enjoyed watching him play and he saved the whites on many many occasions with heroic displays, we at Athy Colls are in the 'Good Jussi' camp, a couple of years ago the Colls was broken into [again] and a signed framed Nicholas Anelka shirt was taken, somehow Jussi got to hear about this and promptly got all of the lads at the club to sign one of his shirts, he then went to the Coll's chairmans shop and handed the shirt over for us to replace the Anelka one. We subsequently had the stolen shirt returned by someone with a guilty conscience, we now have Anelka, Jussi and Pilky [Naarwich] gracing the walls of our club

Thanks Jussi

can't believe some of the crap posted on here. i couldn't give a shinny if he's a miserable bugger or the nicest persone since mother teresa. jussi took over from brannigan who was no donkey. bogdan is the future and jaaskelainen knows this is his turn now. he got us to where we where, but at least he wasn't between the sticks when we slipped back down the divisions - i get the impression some would have loved to of throw that at him.

as a footballer we own this man a lot.

No sentiment thanks for the service Jussi

He never gave me the same confidence that I had with McDonagh or Branagan.

He tended to panic far too much and his kicking was pathetic this led me not to easily forgive his silly mistakes (admittedly they may have been rare)

On the whole though a good (if well paid) servant and I'll remember his excellent shot stopping fondly despite my belief he is/was overrated!

that was when we had decent players with heart, commitment and passion, notice after the first penalty save, jussi, nolan and vaz te all together, now all of west ham yhifh.

coyle out

Always brings a smile to my face when that word is used to describe handsomely paid footballers. He's probably banked on average ?10k per week for the last 14 years which would equate to ?7.2 million or thereabouts.

So fuckin what ? what would you do in a professional footballers situation ?

I used to moan like fuck that players had zero loyalty, every time we lost our best players....Steve Thompson went for fuck all after playing 355 games....gutted.....

I used to be so fuckin jealous of Southampton with LeTissier who sacrificed everything to stay with the club he loved and to a lesser extent Stuart Pearce.....

"the only loyalty ya get is from the fans....never the players"

then when we do like ricky & jussi we fuckin call them fit to burn

I dont want to see these players leave as they have been brilliant for us...so dont give me this 'times up, see ya' bollocks cos it just makes you sound like a cunt to me.

his kicking is better than bogdans

good luck, jussi

You have hounded Jussi, Nolan and Vaz Te were slated by our so called supporters.

Our clubs ability to turn on their own (on and off the pitch) is embarrasing.

my heart was doing somersaults behind that goal, as champagne charlie said, Jussi must of woke up in a bad mood that day!
