MalcolmW Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 I watched a bit of hockey earlier. Not something I've really watched before. I was suprised of "shit" everyone was. I expect unbelievable control, power and accuracy, a la ice hockey. Was also suprised at the size of the pitch, fooking mahoosive. Plus, facemasks on a penalty? Fucking mard arses Two bad injuries for Great Britain in the last 5 minutes. First the captain took a stick in the mouth/cheek - not nice. Then someone else got a shot on the knee from about 5 yards - that looked painful too. Quote
stevieb Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 GBR not really using home advantage count so far overall when it comes to medals (is there such a thing in Olympics?) Australia did well in Sydney. China did alreet last time out. Pretty sure the US of A did pretty well in 96. Greece where shit back in 04 but thats because the euromillions wasnt rolling over much. Quote

Now you are being stupid It's the 2nd day If we win fewer medals than last time, then you might have a point About 13 days too soon to tell Quote
HomerJay Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 I'd like to see a medals per capita table Is just a case of higher population, more medals. But I guess 3rd world countries bugger that up. Quote
jules_darby Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 The swimming was very entertaining That French final leg in the men's freestyle relay to catch the yanks was superb viewing Love the Olympics me Quote
stevieb Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Love the Olympics me I think I do too, I spend 4 years berating it but when its on I love watching it! Quote
no balls Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 I've fallen in love with it for the first time, this time. Maybe it's age and I no longer think it's cool to act all nonchalant & disregard stuff I know little about. The opening ceremony is what's got me wanting to watch it, I reckon. Haters gonna hate, but I'm McLoving it. Quote

Haters gonna hate, but I'm McLoving it. Its the only time ill spend finding out about new sports I know I will not watch for another 4 years. Rowing I get into, Archery was top yesterday, Swimming for fucks sake, ive watched at least 2 hours worth today. WOMENS BASTARDING FOOTBALL!!!! Id sooner die normally than watch these spackers flapping at every shot but because its the olympics ive seen at least 17 minutes worth of footage! Quote
HomerJay Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Yup, loving it. Never really been massively into it before. Even the other countries, not just gbr stuff Quote
no balls Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 After yesterday slobbing on my mate's sofa watching Archery, I decided I fancied a dabble with it. I'll probably be proper shit with my fliddy arms like, but still. Quote
leigh white Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Never been off the box today, apart from nipping to the offy and going out for a Nando's meal. Had the Beatles " White Album" playing in the background when i got home to continue my compulsive viewing. Quote

no balls Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Handball is, and will always be, dogshit. I was advised to put it on, but didn't get round to it. I take it I didn't miss a thriller then. Quote

They said something about that yesterday.....I was only half listening but I think they said that New Zealand were top, & Bangladesh were worst in a medals per capita table. Quote

DazBob Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Rebekah Adlington has unfair advantage as she has a nose like a dolphin according to Frankiie Boyle Ian 'Thorpedo' Thorpe has size 17 feet. Shirley that gives him a massive advantage in that his feet are, to all intents and purposes, flippers. Quote
