Moderators Casino Posted December 20, 2012 Moderators Posted December 20, 2012 Whilst I agree he's not a patch on what he was before his injury, I'd not sell for anything less than £5m. Who could we get for less than that who would be an improvement? the palace team cost 250k, i think Quote
Heb 7:4 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 It's not Glen Campbell it's Glen Murray. Glaswegians fist fight for top scorer! http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/288952 Strange article. Firstly the notion that we'd sell the league's top scorer for £1million, secondly the notion that Murray would be particularly happy to link up with Dougie. He benched him for most of last season in favour of Martin (who we had on loan from Norwich). Was odd at the time, even stranger in hindsight. Quote
Heb 7:4 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 the palace team cost 250k, i think £2.2million, including subs Quote

Is rumoured he likes it better darn sarth Quote
Moderators Casino Posted December 20, 2012 Moderators Posted December 20, 2012 £2.2million, including subs ah, ok but the point stands we can plenty players for 5 million in fact, we could buy a small south london team twice Quote

Heb 7:4 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 ah, ok but the point stands we can plenty players for 5 million in fact, we could buy a small south london team twice Quite. Big money buys don't win you this league. We've tried it enough in the past, and they flop as often as they succeed. Shrewd purchases of talented hungry players are what you need, and Dougie has an eye for them. And if he doesn't, our chief scout who you also stole does. I think you'll have a few "eh, who?" signings that will end up doing the business. Quote

enzo gambaro Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 If Chungy goes and Eagles then breaks a finger nail we'd be fucked. I daresay there'll be a queue to tell me I'm wrong, but Eagles is a long way off being irreplaceable. Quote
Moderators Casino Posted December 20, 2012 Moderators Posted December 20, 2012 he can play (very well) in all 3 attacking midfield positions so, not irreplaceable, but a big player for us but that'd be true even if lee didn't leave would i trade lee or eagles for a couple of million + 20 goal striker - without a doubt be happier to swap sordell, afobe and petrov for one...course i would Quote
gonzo Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Is it nailed on Petrov is going to Dynamo Sofia or whatever they are called?? Quote
Heb 7:4 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 stole how quaint this is what its like when you have something attractive the big boys come along and take it 'twas tounge in cheek. We don't really mind, as Holloway is also well known for having an eye for a decent player. Though our chairman was joking that Dougie would be back for the tea lady next Quote
tomski Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I daresay there'll be a queue to tell me I'm wrong, but Eagles is a long way off being irreplaceable. I think we'd survive if the great man left! Quote
Heb 7:4 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Eagles should clearly be playing for us. Quote
Traf Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Eagles should clearly be playing for us. Clearly. Whereas we should be signing Millwall's Liam Trotter. Quote

No one is irreplaceable but at this moment in time Eagles is in our best eleven (ditto Warnock). Neither are world beaters but we need them to progress in this league. Quote
Site Supporter HomerJay Posted December 20, 2012 Site Supporter Posted December 20, 2012 I really do wonder what standard of player folk expect us to sign in jan I fear many will be severely disappointed Quote
HR Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 We don't need anybody, all our players are too good for this division. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Beggars belief some folk wanting to sell LCY for 2-3 million, clueless beyond my comprehension. Quote

Is it bollocks He's not even our first choice right winger He's a saleable asset And he's been playing poorly post a pretty bad injury We could use the money elsewhere where it's needed I'd guess he's on decent wages too Clueless? Nope, pragmatic Quote
