MickyD Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Bolton news says DF will not have cash to spend over transfer window. It isn't cash it's a shotgun he needs. Quote
jazza Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Becchio from Leeds for £3 million... Yes please!! But what the fuck would he want to leave Leeds for to come to Bolton? And why would they sell him to us? Quote
Hutch Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Need a tough defender, perhaps someone who has lost a little pace but can still defend. Someone at the end of their career......Carragher if he would come perhaps Rodgers signs a defender or two in Jan and he wants to play Dean Whitehead from Stoke and Shaun Derry from QPR in midfield Camrone Jerome from Stoke upfront (doubt he would come but worth a try) Quote
tomski Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I like the carragher shout. Wouldn't grumble about the others. Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 (edited) Becchio from Leeds for £3 million... Yes please!! But what the fuck would he want to leave Leeds for to come to Bolton? And why would they sell him to us? Forget signing a striker for money, any money we have needs to all go on the defence. We seldom struggle to score most of the problems are at the other end. Atomic White. Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 4 defenders and 2midfielders in. Get rid of at least 7 or 8 of our overpaid cowards. If we can't sell them because nobody else wants them for whatever reason, send them power washing round the stadium or litter picking, get some use out of them. Quote
superkev Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 A strong defender, 2 brick shithouse midfielders and someone who knows where the net is. That will do for starters. We need some spines in this team not ponces. Quote
Garrp Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 First target is Craig Dawson then. Centre back from West Brom No idea how good he is defensive wise but know he scores from set pieces for fun Quote
superjohnmcginlay Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Played for Rochdale before he went to west brom iirc Quote
Casino Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 radcliffe boros finest pleased hes seen where we are weak(est) Quote
rochdale white Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 The lad is totally down to earth and a model pro. You won't catch him ballooning on twitter or sniffing for fanny in Panacea. When he first went to WBA Hodgson bollocked him for over-training. Coming in early and staying behind after too. Pearce rates him at the U21s but since Clarke has come in at WBA he hasn't really had a sniff due to the form of others. If its a change in attitude Dougie wants then he is the ideal man. He just wants to play, first team and isn't arsed by the pay cheque at the end of it. The problem from our point of view is that he is totally unproven at this level. He excelled at Boro and with Dale in League 1 and 2, then jumped to the Prem and struggled for appearances unfortunately. Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Reported in today,s Mirror. Initially want him on loan till the end of the season, then sign him. played for England under 21's. Quote
darrener Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Be a good signing that. Young and hungry to play. Quote
Atomic White. Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 I agree, with the club saying DF will not be getting any money in January this sounds like a good loan deal. Hopefully if we do manage to send a few on he gets that money though. Quote
ex_midlandwhite Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 I hope Dougie tries to pick up the type of players he has had success with at Palace rather than going for old and out of favour prem players just because we have heard of them. Norwich and Swansea have achieved relative success based on this approach recently. This squad really lacks desire or need to prove themself in my opinion, especially in defence, which is why I am not mad keen on paying fees for the likes of Warnock or Dunne. Quote

Same here. However, there'll be the inevitable moaning "What the fuck are we signing these for?" Quote
gonzo Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 That Vaughn fella with the big chin from Sunderland on loan till end of season. ITK mark my words. Quote
Rembrandt Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Are we allowed 15 loan players ? We fookin need 'em if we have no cash to buy. Quote
