December 21, 201213 yr It's 4 hrs and you can do it in an evening 5.30 - 9.30. I did it recently at Walmersley Rd, Bury. It was alreet. half 5 start is that to encourage you to speed to get there after work?
December 21, 201213 yr I had to do one in Northampton at the County Cricket Ground after getting done by an unmarked van. Had to listen to a couple of hours of dogma and pictures and during the tea break I had a go in the nets. They also let us go early as the VISA head office nearby finishes for the day at 5 so they didn't want us to get stuck in trafffic. Great day out and I got a free keyring.
December 21, 201213 yr If they want to make a motorway safe, stick some fucking lights on the m6 between 15 and 19 and sort the waggins out. Seventy four deaths a week on there. Maybe more. Smiffs for transport minister Edited December 21, 201213 yr by Gonk
December 21, 201213 yr Fooking, bastard cuntshovelers!!! 36 in a 30 zone. Anyway, anyone been on one of these things? I've also heard it could be all for nothing with the insurance companys now. Anyone had any issues with their insurers after going on one? Pissflaps! Have a chat with Meldrew, He’s a regular on these courses!
December 21, 201213 yr Done for 36 in a 30. Did one a few months back- 3 points and a fine or do the course- no brainer. As for insurance, mine said "have you ever been convicted of a driving offence..." as far as I understand I hadn't- so no. Simples
December 21, 201213 yr Is it me or are there a lot fewer cameras now than there were a couple of years back? I see a lot more of these ones which tell you how fast you are going and give a smiley face or a sad one and I think I read something which said tests showed folk slow down for those more than they do for cameras. And cameras can't be such a cash cow if they let you choose an alternative to paying a fine.

The people providing the courses are usually private companies and are paid by the local authority, which I'm sure will also cream off a little from your fee. There's also a large variation in cost depending on which authority you did it in.
January 7, 201313 yr Get rid of points on Facebook http://www.independent.ie/national-news/courts/jail-sentence-for-driver-who-advertised-on-facebook-for-volunteer-to-take-his-penalty-points-3346200.html

March 25, 201313 yr The answer to the number of hazards in the video at the end is about 400. Oh and a dual carriageway has to have a central reservation.
March 25, 201313 yr Proper men get caught going too fast to qualify for the awareness course. 49 in a 30. Back of the net.
March 25, 201313 yr Did you not see the lamposts? I was going too fast, they were all blurred. It was the coast road in Lytham, very deceiving. Dunes on one side of the road and not much on the other.
March 25, 201313 yr Proper men get caught going too fast to qualify for the awareness course. 49 in a 30. Back of the net. Beat you. 70 in a 40. Trouble is, I got away with it
March 26, 201313 yr This Wednesday night at Bolton arena. Hope there's some fitties on it. I think I had one when I did mine at the arena. But no you won't be able to sit next to them you'll have to sit next to an iritating Manc twat who is the only person who attends a speed awareness course, with no form of transport and pesters you for a lift home all night and doesn't like football.
March 26, 201313 yr I did one last week in Bury. Bloke leading the course thought he was Peter Kay with his stories - tosser Oh and he was from Yorkshire. One chap fell asleep part way through. No fitties either. Only thing i actually learnt was that Transits shouldn't do 70 on a dual carriageway. But then again I don't drive a tansit..
March 26, 201313 yr At the arena it were a little Scouse guy. Nice enough, just a very boring subject to speak on.
March 26, 201313 yr Her indoors is doing one on Wednesday in Manc somewhere. She got done for having part of her wheel on the hard shoulder while in slow moving traffic. Absolute madness Edited March 26, 201313 yr by bwfcryan86
March 26, 201313 yr The speed camera outside Bolton School got my old fella on the way back from his course at The Bolton Arena. He got his licence taken off him a few months later anyhow Edited March 26, 201313 yr by Breightmet Boy

March 26, 201313 yr If a road has lights but no speed signs, 30mph. providing the lamps are no more than 200 yds apart and are for the primary use of lighting the roadway and not the footway and are equally visible during daylight. ( i e not obscured by trees etc). someone had a speeding ticket thrown out of court for challenging this and won, the street lighting didn't conform so the 30mph limit was deemed illegal.
March 26, 201313 yr Not an option for me.... 54 on a motorway!!! End of M6 toll road where the 42 splits, variable speed sign at 40 even though M6 was clear. Not happy
