no balls Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I bet the tabloid press are wanking themselves silly with the thought of them being only a short train ride away now. Quote
Zico Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 didnt Drogba do something similar with his shanghai wages? fair play, he doesn't need the money, then again, he doesn't need to give it away either Quote
Zico Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 he'll still shine in that wank excuse of a league Quote
L/H White Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 Groups of English fans already planning trips to France to watch a PSG game. Been sick in my own mouth Quote

Danny G Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 His playing salary is low in football terms. He is however keeping the millions in image rights which will increase due to the crafty piece of PR from brand Beckhams team. Quote
tomski Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 His playing salary is low in football terms. It's a nice gesture whichever way you look at it. Quote
DazBob Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Still doesn't need to give his football wage up though. It's a nice gesture whichever way you look at it. Aye. He didnt need to do this. It's not as if he needs to boost his profile any more. Top fella. Quote
Lenny with a y Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Announcing it smells of a pr exercise. Fair enough if he wants to donate no need to tell everyone about it Quote

buckhurstwhite Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I'm in the cynic camp too surprisingly This, last day of the transfer window it's a BIG smelly PR stunt to keep brand Beckham in the headlines. Quote
Krimzon Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 A Childrens charity will get lots of money, how is there anything bad in that ? Quote
freds dad Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 A Childrens charity will get lots of money, how is there anything bad in that ? But will giving his salary to a French charity get him a knighthood? Quote
Sweep Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 But will giving his salary to a French charity get him a knighthood? He's getting one in a few years anyway, that'll have no bearing on it Quote
Krimzon Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Cian Bolger a done deal. We've signed an entire Clan ? Quote
chief wiggum Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I try to hate the bloke but I can't bring myself to do so... I understand the cynicism but whatever the motives some kids may get half a chance in life, and I don't give a shit where they're from that's a positive. I'm guessing here but I bet he's turned out for loads of charity events wherever he's been and raised the profile, yes I know it doesn't do his PR any harm but hey, if it helps don't knock it. Rather him than some 19 year old fuckwit on £60k a week cunting around in a baby Bentley and wearing big headphones so he doesn't have to (god forbid) interact with supporters. I would also bet that Beckham's never not signed an autograph when asked, wtihin reason. And he loved playing for England, always put a shift in for his country. Quote
Zico Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Announcing it smells of a pr exercise. Fair enough if he wants to donate no need to tell everyone about it Still he avoids the assumption that he's a millionaire footballer who only cares about the money which is a brush people are always quick to look to tar with I imagine there's a lot of rich folk out there who do stuff like this, don't tell anyone, yet people are happy to assume they don't Quote
pato Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Isn't the French tax rate for people over Min Wage something like 50%? Image rights will be sold/brokered elsewhere Quote
