DazBob Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 (edited) We, on the other hand, are in pots of debt and in a huge transition. When does this period of transition end? At the end of this season? The word 'transition' only seems to be trotted out when a team is struggling. When teams are on the up it seems to be forgotten.. Edited December 29, 2013 by DazBob Quote
Didledee Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Well at least we scored 3 and that's really hard v top of the Championship and the new Man City, we beat bottom of the league, the team around us, Freedmans doing great and conceding 5 goals isn't that bad, plenty of positives, other teams near the drop lost. SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 DF has had over a year to turn things round and TBH we have gone backwards We are shit like anewman says and a change of manager like Middlesboro might be the answer Also, it might not be. Do you give the next guy a year, or longer? What about the one after that, when we're in League 2? Quote
Spider Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I'm not saying, you silly billys, that this is any good, quite the opposite I'm saying, that we need to give freedman a chance as if we get rid we are right back at square one with a manager who will have the same issues. Time, that's what the guy needs. And some decent players Quote
whiteyboy Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Just heard Derby are 2nd. They must have been one of the worst outfits I have seen in this division. Completely baffled. Quote
radcliffe white Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Good job there is some shit teams in this league or else I would be really worried about doing a wolves Quote
Breightmet Boy Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 We had a go, we didn't sit back and soak up the pressure then try to snatch one. We entertained and had a go, that'll do me Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Not sure where we go from here it's all feeling a bit aimless now so little of what Dougie has set out seems to be coming to fruition he's floundering now for me not saying he should go yet like but the facts are the facts we're a bit shit and have been consistently this season and I'm not sure there are many valid reasons Quote
Didledee Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 We had a go, we didn't sit back and soak up the pressure then try to snatch one. We entertained and had a go, that'll do me What if we did that every week and ended the season with 0 points? Quote
Carlos Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Radio said Nugent has scored 8 pens this season, that's a fucking lot of pens for a team to be awarded. Quote
Arrested development Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 That would be the derby who had STABILITY for years with Clough and didn't make playoffs . Sack Clough, appoint Mclaren. Now 2nd in the league. Quote
xxxxxx Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Can anyone explain to me why Knight was playing as a full back? Quote
xxxxxx Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Radio said Nugent has scored 8 pens this season, that's a fucking lot of pens for a team to be awarded. I know.... but they've actually had about 13 pens. Quote
whiteyboy Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Dougie needs to stop being so naive attempting the play the Italian game with a squad of cloggers. It's clear he's stuck with the team as we don't have a pot to piss in. The manager doesn't suit the squad and the squad don't suit the manager. Quote
Carlos Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I know.... but they've actually had about 13 pens. Good stat. That's far too many, we'd be flying with an extra 10 or so pens this season. Quote
Sweep Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 I know.... but they've actually had about 13 pens. correct, today was there 13th, thats loads of pens for a full season, let alone just half of one Quote
anewman Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Just heard Derby are 2nd. They must have been one of the worst outfits I have seen in this division. Completely baffled. The idiots on here were lauging when they sacked clough for mcclaren, look at them now Quote
SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 correct, today was there 13th, thats loads of pens for a full season, let alone just half of one The age old stat. When you're on top, things tend to go your way more often than not. When you're at the bottom, you keep getting shit on. Quote
Spider Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 That would be the derby who had STABILITY for years with Clough and didn't make playoffs . Sack Clough, appoint Mclaren. Now 2nd in the league. Got stable Solid set up Now pushing on Maybe a model to follow? Quote
Didledee Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 We had a lot of penalties for and against last season, mainly against, have you seen all Leicesters penalties, maybe they were correctly given. Quote
Carlos Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 See where they are in 12 months, a good run in December means nowt on its own. Quote
snowball Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Just heard Derby are 2nd. They must have been one of the worst outfits I have seen in this division. Completely baffled. Thought they were much improved on last season when they played us under Clough and McLaren is an excellent coach if you forget England and look what he did in Holland. It shows, along with Leicester what you need in this league is a tough, organised defence and a striker who can strike. We are still crap in defence. Baptiste hadn't impressed me at right back (defensively) never mind at left back. I like Tierney and think Mills used correctly with the right partner should be ok at this level.Lonergan is average, Bogdan worse (both not a patch on you know who now restored to the first team by a PROPER manager). Ream,Knight, Mears not good enough. Do not think Dougie should be sacked but fuck me we are going to be moaning for a long time till he can shift some of this shite but like Pearson at Leicester I think he will eventually do what's needed. Bollocks to 2013. Quote

Struggle to argue against this all top teams solid English style manager set up settled sides very organised I like a lot of dougies ideas in stabilizing club getting young players in etc etc but ultimately his tactics don't work more often than not and if players struggling then coaching needs looking at none of our players have got better under freedman have they?? Mills maybe and pratters but I think they just got fit and got picked - I best stop I'm convincing myself he's not up to it now Quote
hughmungus Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Whilst I am not one of the DF rose tinted fans, we have to give him the transfer window to bring in a couple of players and do it in the first week not on the final day. If he still can't get the team to play his way then he has to go. It's not that simple just having a clear out and hoping, the manager has to do his job with what he has. Quote
