Sweep Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Gash today. Was almost as bad as the union played down here last month. Sadly, I was there. It was awful, I was surprised how players from both sides couldn't catch or hold the ball. The game yesterday was far duller than any RU game I've ever been to. If that is the pinnacle of RL, then no wonder nobody likes/watches it. West Ham have a cracking ground now though Quote
Smiffs Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 It was easily the worst game ive seen in years so it does get better Thought the stadium was gash though. Very basic and bland. Miles from the pitch...west ham dams won't like it given they'll rarely fill the place too. Quote
MancWanderer Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Just watched a recording. Christ that was bad. Way too many mistakes making it all a bit stop-start. A match even a purist would struggle to enjoy. Can't wait for the decider though Quote
Big E Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I liked the ground. Not a great view but decent enough. Be interesting walking through the shopping centre on match days I reckon Quote

Be interesting walking through the shopping centre on match days I reckonAMF and all that. Not a clue how they're going to segregate at all. Thought the ground was all a bit odd. Probably not a bad view in the corners where you're nearer to the pitch compared to my spot near the halfway line in the padded seats. Cracking day out, even allowing for an unscheduled ramble around Tower Hamlets trying to find a pub. Amazed my wallet and anal virginity are still intact. Quote

leigh white Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 (edited) If you're a proper Leyther I don't believe either are intact I don't think Matt was around when Leyth looked like this. Edited November 8, 2015 by leigh white Quote

Looks like a crane collapse. Wank. Quote
Maggie Tate Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Two days I successfully avoided the result to watch that crap just now. Williams and Farrell are rubbish. Still, as the worst game of rugby league I've seen in about twenty years it was still better than the best rugby union game in the same time period. Quote
Moderators Casino Posted November 15, 2015 Moderators Posted November 15, 2015 watched it yesterday and good to see we can reasonably claim to be one of the 3 best teams in the world i do have one question what are the rules re forward passes nightingale (?) flies in for an excellent finish but he takes the ball about 2 or 3 yards in front of where it was passed from and yet nobody bats an eyelid Quote
glennboltw Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 It's called the momentum rule......basically if the player receiving the ball is behind the player who is throwing the ball it can be classed as momentum. (It's a very grey area) Quote
MancWanderer Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Yep. Momentum. Like if you throw summat out of the car window when driving. You might throw it backwards but it ends up well forward of where you first threw it So long as the receiving player is behind the one one who made the pass then it's fine Quote

Wish the fucktards on Sky would use that one. Quote
MancWanderer Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Well that wouldn't give that fatneck fuckwit Stevo anything to whinge about Quote

MalcolmW Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Leigh were the first team ever to beat Batley in the RL Challenge Cup. Batley won in 1897 beating Bramley, Brighouse Rangers, Widnes Warrington and St Helens. They won again in 1898 beating St Helens, Walkden, Castleford, Oldham, Salford and Bradford. The next year they beat Rochdale Athletic and York before losing to Leigh. Quote
