Garrp Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 that we think hes worth 10 bob a week? yes and that dougie thinks he does have the 'desire' Quote
Casino Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 yes and that dougie thinks he does have the 'desire' it must be the hunger thats missing to be fair, we've heard from plenty managers and players about the value of a solid pre season and he missed out on occasion hes looked great id not be too unhappy with a pay as you play deal but cant see him going for that Quote
frank_spencer Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Kept "hungry" Beckford, though Hes not out of contract though. Quote
onlyoneawalker Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Remember moritz saying he wants to put down some roots on signing his next deal namely 2-3 year contract so if he does sign it'll be either one year with 2nd guaranteed on appearances or two and going to three - I'm sure Dougie responded with saying hopefully we'd be able to sort something out - always the chance from abroad Greece Turkey France maybe that slap a 3 year deal in front of him and he'd be offski Quote
anewman Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Been out of the country most of the year so can't comment on this season but delighted to see Eagles go. Few step overs giving away possession with long shots and backing out of tackles leading to chances for other team. Anyone know what our finances are like?? How many are we likely to bring in? Are we paying Holden's wages or is it USA? Syria or Afghanistan? Quote

Zico Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 "Promised scope to bring in players" probably means sell Davies, lee and bogdan and you can have 4 free transfers Not a pop mind Quote
gonzo Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/wanderersnews/11192644._/?ref=mac For all his sometimes mental decisions,I can't help but like the bloke when he says stuff like this. Hope he sorts it I really do. “Their lives are okay – they don’t want to go out on loan, they only want a new contract. They sit down, score no goals and say their life is okay. “Now it gives me an opportunity to get something in return for what Eddie Davies signs cheques for every year. “It gives me a chance of getting a player who is going to give 100 per cent and is committed to getting better. “I’m not promising finished products who are going to shine every day but I’m promising players who want to represent this football club the right way.” Quote
HomerJay Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Says Dougie on 500k a year 10k a week Less than those leaving And the buck stops with him Players can sit happy, he has to am earn his cash Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Says Dougie on 500k a year Where does it say that? Quote
Traf Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 The swipe is clearly at the Burnley signings. Knight & Lynch were both mentioned, but I think's it's a little unfair for them to have been associated with the reasons for Eagles & Mears' departures. Knight will have been on less than them and has played often enough for Dougie to have thought he was contributing. Lynch will have been on a realtive pittance. Quote

Will mean knight and lynch. . Has knight scored more than Eagles this season? Quote
gonzo Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Feel a right shit fan because I've absolutely no idea who Lynch is. Quote
Traf Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Feel a right shit fan because I've absolutely no idea who Lynch is. 4th choice keeper. Quote
only1swanny Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Lets be honest... all our keepers will have bad backs with how often they have to pick the ball out of the net... Quote
passmosster Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 When I've seen Lynch, I have been quite impressed. Very quick off his line. But keepers need first team football and they can kick around the ressies for too long. Like Lainton did. Quote
jules_darby Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I believe that Knight has been a decent pro for Dougie Just makes no sense for us fiscally keeping him, Wheater, Mills and Ream and Tierney back to LB next season. Baptiste can also play CB if we need cover. Hence it probably being difficult I wish Zat all the best to be honest, but those 2 nobbers from Burnley can fuck off Lynch was never going to get in the top 2 whilst Bogdan and Lonergan are here so best for his career that he moves on now. He's 21 and although that's young for a keeper it's no good not being top 2 at that age with nobody ahead of him nearing retirement so probably good for all concerned. Quote
DaveTheRave Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Mears - fucking overpaid wanker. Fuck off and don't ever set foot in Bolton again you cunt. Eagles - decent at times. Waste of space at other times. Scored some good goals but pussied out of too many tackles. Thought he'd do a job for us at this level. I was wrong. Good riddance. Knight - never worth the money we paid and a liabilty at times. Probably not as bad as some people think though and better than Mills and Ream imo. Glad he's gone though. Quote
Traf Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Knight - better than Mills and Ream imo. Glad he's gone though. So you'll presumably want Mills and Ream replacing too? Otherwise your comment doesn't make any sense. Quote

tylswhite Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I think we need better than Mills and Ream if we want to go up. Do we? I reckon we just need to defend better as a team. Our defence has been ok the back end of the season. Would you rate Shackell and Duff at Burnley much better than Mills and Ream? I think the full backs make a big difference too. We haven't had two settled decent ones for a good while. Quote
