HomerJay Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Can team make left back his own? I think given time,he probably could. Wheater and mills in the middle. Then get Hutton in the right. And fucking stick with it!!!! Quote

Zico Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 And think the onus will be on giving youth a chance so doubt we'd be up for paying hutton's wages with threkheld breaking through to the first team And we've got Tierney to come back And baptiste knocking about Be surprised if we sign any defenders Quote

Horwich Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Ream player of the year...shows how shite we really are Quote
Casino Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 if tierney is fit and if baptiste hasn't fcuked it off we have decent numbers at the back but i'd put us one centre back light for full back, we've got baptiste, our oscar, white, tierney, ream, our andy and poss hutton if he wants us (or mcnaughton) Quote

Ream, Mills, Wheater and Baptiste can play there too. I'd say that's as covered as we need considering money is tight? Quote
scallywell Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Alan gowling said he wouldn't see Bolton again in the premiership in his lifetime ffs how old is he Quote
Casino Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) have i not seen knight playing there recently? i'd say we've got 3 centre backs aye, in theory we can use loans but that worked well with left backs... Edited May 7, 2014 by Casino Quote

only1swanny Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 anyone reckoning he will buy any defenders clearly has no idea how he works.. He's lost a midfielder in Eagles... And so will purchase another 3 central midfielders as per last season when we needed full backs.. Quote
EyesRight Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I'm looking forward to see what happens. I think a RB and a forward are the two main positions, hope Hutton and Juke are the two. Quote
SatanGreavsie Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Ream player of the year...shows how shite we really are He was shite at Shrewsbury early doors in the League Cup and leaving the ground I wouldn't have had him down as likely player of the year. But to be fair he's cracked on and donned a mask. Plus, getting the award must do summat for his confidence.... Is the mask part of the healing process, or is it there for good now?? Quote
paulhanley Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 We need * Two strikers (one being Juke) * One winger * One central defender to replace Knight if Ream is to remain a left back. We need four centre backs. I'm assuming he's going to sign Liam Trotter. We also probably need to get Sordell, Andrews, Craig Davies, Eaves, Odelusi off the books. Quote
Zico Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 All for giving youth the chance but they need to be eased in & rested occasionally unless they are exceptional like Shaw at Southampton. We can do that without buying hutton PG is all about cost cutting at the moment so will be hard to justify a new RB on good wages when one is coming through and ready to start whilst the other was brought in on a healthy wage last season bringing through youth was also supposedly one his plus points from his time at palace so again, I think he'll be forced down that route Quote

He's been banging on about it being 'his thng' bringing the kids through. Quote
Zico Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Forced might not be the right word but I don't think there'll be much scope to do much else, I reckon jukewitcz at a push then he'll have to be thrifty to add any proven quality Quote

Eddie Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Surely we can't offer Hutton a wage that he'd drop to from the £40k he's on now. I realise he might be in the situation of having to take what he can get now he's out of contract but I'd be surprised if a lower prem club or champ club with a higher budget don't offer him a contract. Quote
Garrp Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Huton has another year on his Villa contract I think thats the thing that gives us a small bit of hope Quote
HomerJay Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) What's the most we would offer? 10k? Looks like villa are subsidising or it's a total no go Edited May 7, 2014 by HomerJay Quote
