DaveTheRave Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 When the swap deal happens in a few weeks you lot are going to owe me an apology. Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Realistically, how much would Dawson cost? Realistically, how much could we sell Ream for? I don't think there's a lot of difference in it, with a bit of decent negotiation, we could do a swap. Hold up, I've just seen the flaw in that plan. Quote
Sweep Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) I would guess that Dawson is probably c£2.5M and Ream is probably c£1M Edited May 7, 2014 by CWP Quote
Carlos Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Dawson is a £2m player all day, Ream is a 500K one. Dawson is a 20K a week player, Ream is a 5K a week one. So, roughly £1.5m plus another 750K a year wages, £4m over 3 years, minimum. Then when Dawson goes to a bigger club, some window licker keeps posting how come we only got 3 bob for a player at the end of his contract. I'd rather stick with Ream. Quote
DaveTheRave Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I would be amazed if Ream is on £5,000 a week. Hope you're right. Quote

gonzo Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Our days of paying anything anywhere near high enough wages to tempt Dawson and the likes are long gone in affraid. I'd be looking below not above. Quote

Zico Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 wasn't ream on 3 n 6 when we got him from the U.S i dread to think what we pay him per week it was well documented at the time he was getting a massive pay rise 30 times according to mail up to 20k a week, which I can well believe - I think most of Coyle's PL signings were on similar http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2085875/Bolton-tempt-Tim-Ream-deal-worth-30-times-salary.html as for Dawson, very much doubt £2M would do it, it's a non starter for us anyway, but for a PL team I reckon they could get him for £4M Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Players are like houses. It doesn't matter what you or your estate agent think it's worth, it's what someone is prepared to pay. If you have to move quickly, you might accept less than the asking price because you're already paying for your new house & can't afford both. Equally, you might have a lot of interest in your house, 2 or 3 people might want it & you can sit back & wait for who wants to pay the most. Problem is, our Estate Agent has been a bit shit in recent years. Quote

Either way its fucking insane that we are even considering it I think we need to be looking at players making the step up from lower not tother way round. Quote
CAPSLOCKCOLIN Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Fwiw, WBA fans seem far from impressed with Dawson from what I've read. They all reckon he's not made the step up to the Premier League and isn't a long term answer. 4th choice centre back at best etc. They're blaming him for the goal at Arsenal and are baffled that Pepe Mel stuck him at right back. MalcolmW Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Hundreds of 'em in the ESL. I don't think DF meant "not be as good" by quite such a margin. Quote

Guest JamesBond Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I like it. We can swap Beckford for Messi, Chungy for Bale and Chris Eaves for Ronaldo whilst we're at it. Chris Eaves - I thought it was Tom Eaves? Quote
DazBob Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Chris Eaves - I thought it was Tom Eaves? A common mistake. Quote

Traf Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Never heard of Tom. Chris' twin brother, mate. Like the weird twist of fate that Chris Eagles also has a brother called Thomas. Quote
