A brief mention also for Ishmael Miller. On a free from Forest, scored a good few for Yeovil last season and has always had a decent ratio at Championship level. Bit of a temperamental bugger though....

Ashley Barnes might not be a bad shout as regards a target man style player. Another idea might be Chris Wood, New Zealand international who played last year for Leicester.

Would be amazed if the cost was less than double that of Juke.

We'd need to know more about Leicester's situation. I must admit to not knowing what they paid for him. £2m would be rich for us, £1m and maybe we could afford it, season long loan? Trouble with the latter is we would have to wait until late August.

He comes across as more deluded than Coyle on occasions.

Talk sport announced this last week about Juke but many people weren't having it. If he was gonna come to us it would have happened pretty quickly. Lure of premier league football in that shit hole too good to resist. Not to worry, I wanted him to sign but he wasn't amazing. Not worth 1.5 million in my opinion.

Ashley Barnes isn't a target man style player. He scores goals in this league mind so might be a good shout on loan given all burnley's new front men. 

 

Given Dougie's interview in the BEN about him challenging Craig Davies to step up, it would seem he will be given a chance with Beckford.

 

They could form a decent partnership. Maybe Craig Davies can be the new Sam Vokes, who knows. Beckford to get the goals, Davies to be the hard working big man. We need at least one more striker, hopefully two, but if CD and JB are playing together in preseason, i wouldn't want to break that up for the start of the season. Mason will definately go somewhere given the strikers cardiff signed.

 

For me the most important thing was to sort the full backs out. Getting Mcnaughton and moxey should make us much more solid.  

Ameobi and Garner instead of Juke and Mason would do for me.

 

Definitely need two new strikers though and then I'd really look forward to the new season.

Decent player Ameobi in my opinion at this level. Not fussed about getting Garner in though.

O well it's a shame the juke deal didn't come off, but by the fuck do I hope that Burnley smash Derbys record low points this season and that the boggle eyed prick is homesick by September.

Not many decent target men knocking around at the moment which is why five or six Champ clubs and Burnley wanted Juke. Glad we didn't go to £1.5m for him but not getting him is a blow.

I can honestly see Freedman getting us another player that no one will be happy with initially. I just don't have enough knowledge of reserve teams. Will be a big ask to find someone decent for low cost though

 

I'd point to Glenn Murray type but think he actually had a good season before Dougie nicked him. He did pluck Bolasie from Bristol though so he can do it
