Gonk Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Loaning out blokes that have been here 5 minutes. You could argue that he's being decisive, but I'd prefer if if he got it right first time round. He definitely has a whiff of the 'chuck enough shit at a wall' school of management. Do we need to bother listing the pile of dross that our greatest ever managaer in living memory signed and binned off? Quote
mickbrown Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 I know we aint comparing like with like, but since you mentioned it, go for it. Then we'll list Allardyce's successes and then we'll list Dougie's Quote
Ani Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 It's only 'irrelevant' because it doesn't fit your theory that he's had nothing to spend. It doesn't matter when he spent it, in fact it's even more relevant if it was spent last season because he's had a whole season to assemble a team. What would our income have been in the Premier League this season? Do you think last season our wage bill increased or decreased ? I do not know but assume it fell and will fall more this season. If we are having to reduce our wage bill then DF is massively restricted in his dealings do you agree with that ? DF has a lot to prove we made progress second half of last season as we did year before. So that gives cause for hope. Something went badly wrong at the start of last year, as manager it is his job to sort stuff like that and he has to learn so that it doesn't not happen again. Quote
Guest bwfcdan Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 @reluctantnicko: U have had your call. Fee agreed with Burnley. Juke on way for medical. Personal terms still to be agreed. Alarm bell sounded. @reluctantnicko: 1.5 ... Well we're not gonna match £1.5 million. Not that I think it's a good price in the first place. If I were Burnley fan, wouldn't be particularly enthralled. If he does go to Burnley though, all the best to him. Quote
jules_darby Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 So.....(assuming he's correct...)...... We now match and if we do, we know he'd still come to us over them really? OR Go for a new target for up front Either way, we can't really blame BWFC for this one I do hope we have back up targets though Quote
Carlos Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 We can loan him from Burnley when they are rock bottom and he can't get a game. Sorted. Quote
Guest Blixa Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Terms could be a tricky one. I reckon they are looking at coming down next season, so will offer contracts either based on that or a good wage cut if they get relegated. Not sure it's a quick deal regardless. Quote

darrener Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Sounds similar to the spearing deal last season! Blackburn were prepared to pay more for him than us but he wanted to come to Bolton so we got him for less Quote

frank_spencer Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 (edited) Sounds similar to the spearing deal last season! Blackburn were prepared to pay more for him than us but he wanted to come to Bolton so we got him for less Blackburn weren't in the premier league Burnley are. The deal with Spearing all along was that he wasn't going to anyone outside the prem but bolton but if a prem side wanted him he'd be off. JSL Edited July 14, 2014 by frank_spencer Quote
Traf Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Burnley have offered £1.5m plus add-ons (that will never get triggered) Boro have acepted. Juke's on his way to discuss terms. The terms are shit, but it's a 3yr deal. The yokels aren't impressed. Quote
