Islamic State

Why are we not bombing the fuck out of this lot with the yanks? I can understand why the Commons voted against not to get involved with the Syria thing. But this is different. If anyone needs blasting to fuck it's these cunts.

That there is and that is wrong too.

As you pointed me in the direction of My Stealthy Freedom. Ive seen some of the women in the middle east standing up for their rights in what seems to us a basic way.

Some of the comments they get you'd think they're handing out free reacharounds not standing in public with their hair in the breeze.

Sluts :)

Any of my muslim friends suffering with a terrible chapped arse and in need of help applying vaseline?

#illslidewithyou

Love these hashtags. Before the bodies were cold some twitter twat decided the real victims here were muslims. Obviously.

No they didn't

You are correct Frank. The twitter twats the very eloquent Maaarsh refers to actually decided that muslims were the victims before any bodies had to even start cooling. Almost immediately the siege started.

Nice to see someone with the bollocks to say so. My belief is that the majority think it but in this fucked PC world, choose not to say it to avoid having to deal with mouthy pups and their manufactured outrage.

To be fair - it started while the siege was ongoing and before anybody had been harmed - so in that sense, the bodies weren't cold.

I don't think that hashtag has anything to do with being PC. I didn't want the gunman to die, because that was too quick. I wanted him to suffer slowly and agonisingly. But at the same time I didn't want innocent people of any particular religion or race to be targeted or abused because of some nutjobs actions. I think that is surely what any reasonable person would feel?

....you'd like to think so.

That would be far too easy though.

It seems the anti PC mob are just as quick to rile as the hippy over PC mob.

To me being politically correct is just not being a dick about something.

Maybe I'm being overly simple but I can't see why it'd be any more complicated.

As for #ilridewithyou it strikes me as the people of Sydney (one being my Brother who was in the cafe at the weekend) saying they're not going to let the activities of a nutjob cause problems for their fellow citizens.

Nothing about deciding the Muslamics are the real victims.

It's just something they feel they can do to try and get some positive, however small in comparison, outcome from the horrific incident.

Exfuckinactley. I'm really baffled as to why it's pissed people off. Unless of course they have an overwhelming hatred of innocent Muslims - or rather they think that there are no innocent Muslims are they are only an Abu Hamza away from blowing everyone sky high.

Aye

Crawley we are in total agreement

Must be Xmas or summat

Just asked a Pakistani cricketing colleague his thoughts on the terrible atrocity.

He said its the Americans fault, since Pakistan allowed them to use their country to fight terrorism, they had nothing like this until after 9/11

I'm still in discussions!!!

Well, let's try to keep it going then man, no point in petty fucking squabbles.

You have read WW before right? :D

Fuck right off. If I want to play best mates, I'll fucking play best mates. Dick.

I've just read the whole details of the school in Pakistan.  It's just horrific, just when you think you've reached the depth of all evil...

Poles apart (not for the first time). Drop the Abu Hamza nonsense from that post (and your fucking awful spelling). Drop 'overwhelming' and then change to word 'hatred' for 'mistrust'; lose the word 'innocent' (whether they are or they aren't) and I really only have to discuss the bafflement with you.

As other more astute readers have deduced, the 'pissed off' bit does not come from the movement/sentiment or whatever the fuck you want to call this hashtag thing. Its the prioritising of it before giving a thought to the still unscathed hostages and what their families must have been going through. Once this turned to corpses, even less reason to worry about some fucker in 'religious dress' copping a dirty look or a verbal insult. I still can't even think about their very petty worries whilst the blood is still fresh and the families are in pieces.

Who's prioritising it ahead of the tragedy the victims and their families have suffered. What can Bruce and Sheila do to help the families in a practical way? other than offer their condolences?

You're worse than the crusties desperate for a reason to be outraged

But this is the point you seem to be completely missing. No one was prioritising the hashtag over the victims. What were people supposed to do? Storm the building themselves?

Come on, man. Even for you this is stretching it a bit. As for not worrying if a totally innocent person is abused in the street, I think we should end this here because of all the odd things you've posted, this is pretty much the strangest.

Why not just post, I hate all Muslims, have done with it and we can all carry on about our business.

It's piss easy to embrace it sat 12000 miles away with the peace pipe.

I think there's a time and place for niceties and stuff; asking (which soon turns into expectation and the 'or you are a cunt' mentality) people to be sympathetic to all brothers when there's brothers being held hostage or whatever isn't the time nor the place.

If your child was in there, you are panic stricken, and someone asked you to love a Muslim on Wear Your Own Clothes day, you'd be a bit of a cunt if your care factor of #walkwithyou (or whatever it called) was much more than zero.

I'd start shouting at innocent people? Yeah, because that'd help. Get a grip.

Beg your pardon?

Does your computer screen currently show something different to mine?

I never said anything whatsoever about shouting at them. You're making that bit up.

As if the only two choices are to cuddle one or shout at one. Treating most of them like the complete irrelevance they are, just like the rest of us, seems the only grown up way to proceed.

Took the words out of my fingers there maggie & smiffs. Remember going into Manchester on the 135 after 9/11. Kinell got to cheetham hill and when guys of asian appearance got on the tension was palpable. Human nature will not change because of a few hash tags

Well this just about sums it up. No-one except Bolty, for his own reasons, really cares, least of all me. But it is piss poor to say that you don't understand something, so it must be racism or extremism which explains it.

The reason the whole thing is a bit irritating is this attitude that 'there are some really nasty people around who might take this out on innocent Muslims, but I'm not one of them, I'm nice, I like the Muslims, look at me.' And people who take such views are self-satisfied and make themselves feel much better in this unpleasant world by making a big deal out of being nice. I donated a day's wage to the family of a lad who worked for me who was killed here a couple of weeks ago. And yet hashtags there were none. Only the sanctimonious expect to be patted on the back for acts of basic human decency, of which this Australia thing was certainly one. No-one needs congratulations for not being racist, or for giving basic help to someone in distress.

That, I think, is why it is a bit tiresome.

On a separate but related topic, Alan Henning was nice to ordinary Muslims too. Didn't expect any praise or a hashtag. What came of him?

Alan Henning was nice to ordinary Muslims too. Didn't expect any praise or a hashtag. What came of him?

Didn't he get killed, because he had a blatant disregard for his own safety and left his grieving family at Christmas?

Didn't he go into what is essentially a war-zone to a civilian, despite being told by all and sundry that it wasn't safe to do so?

I know that, as WW's military correspondent that you'll tell me it's not a war zone, but to untrained unarmed overweight middle aged civilians, it really is.

Normal rational Muslims didn't kill him.
