I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

I don't understand the desire, in the midst of your celebrations, to want to taunt or provoke opposition fans or players.

There's an onus on the players in this too.  Standard celebration for a goal seems to be gurning or cupping an ear to the other clubs supporters.  Even the lad who scored the winning penalty in the FA cup was doing it.

At all the recent invasions, it seems the stewards were all redeployed to create a barrier in front of the away supporters but did their hierarchy not not think about the away players needing protection too?

He got a 10 year stadium ban as well though (I thought it would be life actually). Im not sure what sentences are handed our for ABH in other walks of life, but the bloke is possibly going to miss some great years watching his team and so massive well publicised stadium bans might be a.good deterrent for people

Then again as gf has just said, majority of them on both pitches last night will have known about the Forest incident and the aftermath, and yet "thick cunts will be thick cunts"

It probably helped that he pleaded guilty at the first hearing.

The club have also claimed he'll be banned for life.

Something needs to be done about this pitch invasion it’s getting out of hand close the ground for 5 games let’s see what the clubs do then

Encroachment, along with flairs, has grown since lockdown ended. It's become quite common to see a few fans run on after a goal. Rarely more than messing behind the touchline, and the occasional whirl in the 6 yard box.

I get the post play-off excitement, but not to this extent & absolutely not attacking players or officials. Officials & players attacking fans is a new development altogether.

Dunno what happened to fan discipline post lockdown but it's an odd development.

It's all grist to Neil Hart's mill though.

Just to add ... anyone who remembers the dark days of organised fights, trouble and the development of high, sharp topped fencing and pens (often bent backward to restrict climbing) should dread their return.

With cctv recording, facial recognition, ticket sales with names and bank details attached, hopefully there are subtler ways of dealing with the worst perps.

After this weeks shite, control is only going to go one way. Some clubs will be in severe trouble. Ground closures may follow.

Only last week we had one idiot on here suggesting the crazy corner gang should 'storm' that area and reclaim 'their' seats. What a cock.

Posters here often revel in the dark days and many are unyielding in their dislike of Neil Hart, but beware what you wish for.

Swindon players punched last night too.

Points deductions/forfeit games for pitch invasions

Only solution to this I'm afraid.

As ever, a few dickheads have to ruin shit for everybody else.

See the Forest fan got six months can’t see that being much of a deterrent.

dunno

"run on the pitch and assault a player, and you're going to prison for a few months, and games for a long time"

might make some people think twice

that said, if you're that way inclined maybe not

and if you are, you won't give a fuck about points deductions

I'm sure though that Forest fan probably wishes he hadn't

Is everyone really crying about pitch invasions....while having pitch invasions yourself every season !?!

In terms of mass pitch invasions, we've literally only had two of them in nearly 30 years. None of them were confrontational in any way, shape or form either.

Apart from throwing stuff at a keeper this season ???

Pitch invasion is a pitch invasion, and you can't have it both ways.

Chucking stuff at any player is bellend behaviour, but that's not what we're on about here. Even Lampard said he had no problem with a pitch invasion as long as folk behaved. But they didn't (at Forest and Vale too, not just Everton).

No amount of stewards is going to stop so many people flooding on to the pitch so there needs to be a better angle of how to protect players and officials, particularly the poor sods who are on the far touchline from the tunnel!

Exactly.....its fine....out of the thousands that went on the pitch 1 fan is a dick head....and thats only bacause cameras pick it all up...and the lad even filmed it himself, im glad he got a kicking.

Thats always gone on and I bet you even more players got goaded / pushed / slapped years ago with pitch invasions, without it getting caught!!

Difference now, is these idiots are getting dealt with quickly, bans & priseon etc.

So lets not all get arsey and offended or outraged by it now all of a sudden....when ive seen many of you on here do the same...and worse at Bolton games.

It happens, its emotional, get over it.

I don't like the concept of pitch invading and jubilant celebrations for staying up. Your team has achieved the bare minimum expectation of the season, be happy if that's your level of course, but it's not exactly a time for mass unbridled celebrations.

But with Everton last night and much the same with the Wilbraham game for ourselves, it's the manner of the victory on the day that gets the emotions to the point where those celebrations feel appropriate. And I can't fault that.

Not sure there's a need to act the bellend with the opposition though, they were just there trying to do their job and were bettered on the day by a team desperate for a result, not really worthy of abuse.

Yes, because you keep falling for the longest running theme on here since Middlebrook got a Nando's.

I'm pretty sure during our pitch invasion that night at Hull at least one of their players got clobbered. Mists of time and everything but remember thinking good job it was on a Friday night so papers had been already printed a lot less publicity in them days as well of cours no mobiles etc Few naughty antics on the pitch that night.

When did I miss the bit where they abolished all lawyers and jail time is handed out quicker than hoverboards!!!
