I'm not totally anti VAR but it doesn't need VAR to send off the keeper in that situation

VAR changes nowt in that situation. To the letter of the law it’s probably technically the right decision, but you can’t seriously apply the reasoning of a covering defender in this scenario, even if it might have ended up presenting the opportunity to send off John Terry in a play off semi final.
