All we can do.

Take care of our own business.Ā

Bloody great set of results tonight though.

Iā€™ve worked in football long enough to know that this end of the season needs 3 thingsĀ

CalmnessĀ

Unity

Strong mentalityĀ

We display so much calmness, on the ball, minutes ticking by, before games, after gamesĀ

Unity, look at the KO huddles, Doyleā€™s hunger when he misses a chance, Baptiste putting his body on the line, Santos sticking up for his teammatesĀ

Strong mentality, what it takes to come from goals down, from losses, individual mistakes.Ā
Ā

We just need to keep quietly going alongĀ

Its great to get back to looking forwards to Saturdays again

It really is ages since we could say that.Ā  OK we looked forward to the start of this season because it was a new start, but purely based on the unknown.Ā  Now looking forward to games with good reason, even though we can't attend, probably for the first time in 4 years.

Last night's results, eating into the 'games in hand' went, generally, our way.

Cheltenham losing at home, Crawley drew at home, Newport lost away. Salford draw at home, Carlisle drew away. Let's hope Grimsby can hold or beat Tranmere tonight. Not a bad round of games.Ā

LEAGUE TWO

A pity about Crawley's late equaliser, but you can't have it all.

I'm quite happy keeping Crawley & Salford interested enough to want to up their game when they play the top teams. they can start to drop away in a 2 or 3 weeks time in Salfaord's case and about a months time in Crawley's case

Generally went our way? id say that's putting it mildly. Top of table losing to third bottom at home & other team above us losing to a Port Vale side that hadnt won for a few games. Ok Salford & Crawley could have lost but lets not be greedy they both dropped points against out of form opposition.Ā

Very good night and did anyone see Barrow's goals they were farcical while Cheltenham smacked post and had one unbelievably hooked off the goal line! Its all coming togetherĀ

Itā€™s getting very close to being in our own hands.Ā

Could be in our own hands come 5pm saturdayĀ

Need Cheltenham to lose , Tranmere to lose 1 of next two or draw both and FGR v Cambridge to drawĀ

All we need to do then is keep winning !

had cheltenham on for the last 15 and their commentators said second half was barrow comfortably dealing with anything cheltenham had

even their shitty throw ins

Ā

anyway, they were still talking up the chances of promotion, saying they would be very unlucky to miss out with 83 points

We have been ground down the last few years and you feel like a football traitor not seeing the game or listening to it < instead just checking results

A low point for me was feeling relief andĀ joy when games were called off - Morecambe, Mansfield twice and Salford.Ā  The avoidance of bad results was stronger than the slim possibility of wins.Ā  In hindsight, those 4 postponements could be the difference between top 3 and play offs, I'm sure we'd have lost at Salford and Mansfield then and possibly Morecambe, as bad as they looked against our 11 men.

Yes, on another day that "shock home defeat to Barrow" is our's not Cheltenham's, with the pen that another ref might have given, rightly or wrongly, and the 'offside' goal.Ā  Fine margins when most of our games are low scoring affairs.

I don't know what half of these show.Ā

But the chart above this bit;

(Chart shows two sets of stacked outcomes for bottom and top half.
Can help gauge at what points level an outcome moves from impossible ā€¦ improbable ā€¦ possible ā€¦ probable ā€¦ highly probable ā€¦ almost certain.)

Seems to suggest 79 points as the table stands is a 67% chance of being top 3. 78 pts just under 49% chance. 80 pts, 83% chance.Ā

We need 23 for the 80 mark. 7 wins 2 draws.Ā
