I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Aaah, but part of gheir demands are "no compulsory redundancies'.

As someone who managed pay negotiations for 30 years in some pretty hard-nosed industries, let me tell anyone in earshot that any such undertaking isn't worth the paper it's written on.

They don't want to settle, they want a rumpus. It's really pissing them off that their industrial (in)action isn't having the impact they intend.

When not on strike they take coordinated sick absence. 16% last year.

Wankers.

As their internal memo outlines;

”the suppression of the capitalist system by  a socialist order of society”

Clearly, nothing to do with rail, members or Doris; pure power politics.

What you mute when Klippety pops up on the screen these days?

Another shocking day for the people operating VAR yesterday. Brentford goal clearly offside, Brighton have perfectly good goal chalked off. The implementation of VAR in the supposed best league in the world is embarrassingly poor.

I hate it. It dominates everything & removes the sport yet further from what is played by 99.9%.

Add the delays, which we were assured would be minimal. I can't imagine what the time delays do to the spontaneity of watching & celebrating.

I didn't want it, for the above reasons, but I did expect it to be very accurate. It's miles off that.

The "clear and obvious" error definition was immediately abandoned.

It needs stopping. At least till we revert to use at 'clear & obvious', limiting decisions to 20 seconds (max) and a sensible decision on what constitutes offside and handball.

If it takes extreme interpretations from a dozen angles & about 3 minutes & they can still get it wrong then it ain't 'clear & fecking obvious' is it !?

Southampton manager gone

Seems he can only do a decent job at Luton

Been gone too long.

He came across a bit odd like Scott Parker.

Sorry I meant Scotty.

Shame he wasn’t at Luton yesterday when they let me down on my treble

Add to that Soucel's save for West Ham

Is there VAR in the Championship?

Thought you were joking.

Nearly as bad as having it in some cup games and not others.

Put it in the bin.

I don't mind var if it's quick and they get it right

How they look at the handball at West ham and decide no penalty in a matter of seconds I've no idea particularly when they often spend several minutes trying to determine if someone is offside by millimetres

And then use the wrong defender as the line.

That’s good to hear, if we were to get promoted.
