I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

I don’t see the issue. He thinks Klopps a cunt. I suspect he isn’t on his own.

Indeed.

Would imagine many referees have similar stories to tell about many managers.

They're only human.

Kinell, Evatt must have a string of refs who would watch that and tap their nose in acknowledgement.

Fucking hell what is the world coming to when you get suspended for telling the truth

Klopp got away with murder on the touchline getting in officials faces trying to intimidate them. Bully boy bollocks  bit like that gobshite Evatt

a cracking post by James, although he shouldn't need to keep explaining himself

We should have signed him when we had the chance.

@gonzo was gutted when it didn't happen.

I wonder if he typed that with his balaclava on and kids close by.

Utter cunt.

As much as I like Klopp his behaviour around referees was embarrassing and aggressive. Fair play to this guy pointing it out.

I don't see the issue. It's not like he's let it affect any decisions.

There was a bit about him being a VAR ref who didn't give a penalty that Howard Webb said should've been given

He may well have thought it wasn't but it's not helpful for the video come out in terms of making life easier for refs

I thought the video was funny

What a daft cunt though

Why even film it and then say "this video can't get out"

I hope he keeps his job and is made to be ref of 4th official at anfield asap

He should be sacked for ludicrously claiming the video was AI

No mention of paramilitary groups murdering soldiers and civilians though.

All very familiar.

Why would we mention them?

He's not talking about the NI troubles.  He's just explaining why he doesn't wear a poppy.

Seems fair enough to me.

Clearly, because he is getting grief, but then issues a criticism of British folk for not understanding his position.

When frankly they do- but don't agree with him.

The very comment he makes is as much one sided as those he seeks to besmirch.

Which makes him hypocritical.

Yet he IS British. He's from Derry which, last time I looked, is in Britain.

Now, he may not like that, he may want that nation to join with the Republic, but he was born British. Will ALWAYS be born British.

Northern Ireland is part of the UK, not Great Britain.

NI is also part of the British Isles

As is ROI

Its amazing how many folk struggle with this

Ulster is another oddball

however @Cheese

theres a number of different definitions of british available, some inc NI, some don't

For what it's worth

Geographically, Northern Ireland is not part of Great Britain

But any person born in Northern Ireland is by law a British citizen

Legally, there's no such thing as UK citizenship

In what way?

The island of Ireland is divided into 32 counties in 4 provinces. Ulster is one of these provinces and made up of the 9 most northerly counties. Pretty straightforward division of the island.

Confusion arises when people incorrectly refer to Northern Ireland as Ulster. Northern Ireland is comprised of only 6 of the 9 counties of Ulster.

One of the 3 that are part of the Republic of Ireland is Donegal, which happens to include the most northerly part of the island. This explains why the most northerly part of the island, is not in Northern Ireland.
