But the number of tributes, especially when they aren't relevant to your club, is something that seems to be on the rise and as such, makes such things less relevant.

I agree with that. There's way too many of these minutes silence/applause. Black armbands would suffice on occasion.

I also don't understand why we pay tribute to another club's supporters killed in an FA Cup tie but don't stage one for our own supporters who were killed in an FA Cup tie.

it's not a reason to boycott the minutes silence as two wrongs don't make a right

but Arsenal fan at work (season ticket holder) told me the scousers ruined the minutes silence for Tom Finney at the Emirates

yet another reason to hate the cunts upon the millions of others

It's not the current fans we're asking to be respected, it's the dead ones.

I hate the advatage they are getting on the pitch, and they know it. People and pundits actually want them to win stuff because of it. They got an fa cup the year it happened ffs !!!

They are getting an advantage because they have the worlds most in form strike force and Steven Gerrard in their team.

Fook all to do with anything else.

Oh aye, they 'ruined' it by chanting 'One Tom Finney' throughout. Pillock.

which is why I said it shouldn't be used as an excuse to boycott the minutes silence

it is a reason to hate liverpool football club and their fans though.

Indeed.

I was trying to reiterate the distinction you were making.

Meh. They get tiny advantages all over the place, they place that fear of upsetting the 'special day','special season', every game they play. That song is forced to association of the crush, it plays on people, the guilt and sympathy. You are telling me that the 4 officials evey game to geed on all this media ???? Even oposition players, guard down an all that.

You are telling me they DONT know about this possibilty to gain the advantage ??

They try it every year, but just so happens that now, united and arsenal are shite, so its easier !!

BTW is it just me or is the quality of picture on BT sport HD far superior to ITV HD? just comparing the the two semis which i've watched on the same tele!

Yes, it is far better.

It's ace when you get right under someones skin.

I bet you were there like you were for the 150 million record attendance in the NFL.

There was a minutes silence planned to respect the late tom Finney

Not sure where chanting - whatever it may be - fits in to that

COYW strikes again

For a long time, Liverpool Football Club has been mocked by the rest of England. ‘Victimpool’ has been a common moniker. “It’s never your fault, it’s never your fault, always the victim, it’s never your fault” a common song sung.

When it came down to the ticketing issues for the weekend FA Cup tie, Liverpool were true to form and blamed everyone but themselves. Denied 9,000 seats due to safety reasons, they moaned it was not their fault and that they should get the lower and upper tier.

The reasoning behind the denial of 9,000 was due to Liverpool’s history of persistent standing and use of flares. So what do Liverpool then do? Stand throughout, set off 2 smoke bombs and steal a ball. They do themselves no favours. As for the disgraceful interruption by their fans during the minute’s silence for Sir Tom Finney, their fans once more went the extra mile and highlighting that they are the shame of English football.
