I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

We play 1 forward man and 1 behind in vela and then 2 wingers being ameobi and another

Alf is none of them. Therefore he doesn’t play

He should get a run out in fa cup alongside Wilbraham Derik Burke dervite Darby and Robinson

neither is Armstrong

neither is Armstrong

True

If Alf fancies playing left wing then crack on

Think that role would be suited to the lad we got from Cardiff tbh

Dean Saunders is fucking awful at commentating.

Some decent things this weekend

Everton

Man U

Johnny Evans

Liverpool (so far)

Klopp is the new Wenger,   without the trophies

Harry Kane is something else. He'll be breaking all the worthwhile records.

Few rumours he is off to Real Madrid at the end of the season

220 mill at least..

Maybe. But bear in mind that he is actually playing for the club he grew up supporting. He is leading club and country and earning more than he could need. And his chef may not be able to pop in every day and cook his meals.

A move abroad to RM might obviously work out, but that is not guaranteed.

I think Spurs may be better off with him than with the money to buy several other players.

If Nat had been sold to Fiorentina in 1954 BWFC would have no major trophies since 1929....

He'll want trophies

They aren't guaranteed anywhere, but still more likely at Real Madrid rather than Spurs

He'll cost a few quid if he does

Kane should go where the money is. He isn’t gonna be paid when he retires injured so this loyalty stuff is daft.

Today has showed the Prem can be a decent league. Sadly it doesn’t happen as much these days

Record attendance for a prem game today, 80,827, that should piss Manure fans off.

They still have a higher attendance for a league match, though

Loyalties don't mean anything with players, it's the fans what count.

kane to madrid

bale and 150 million to spurs

Kane and Eriksen to Madrid.

Stats that are pre-Premier League don't count anymore.

I have a lot of Spurs supporting mates down here - we have around 15 in the scooter club and 16 hammers.

I like to wind the Spurs lads up with a story from when we were head to head with them in the old Division Two.

By virtue of the son of a BWFC club secretary known by a few of the Athy lads on here and who I played amateur football with, we often had tickets for away games which were with the toffs - next to the directors box etc. Loads of funny incidents thanks to mixing pissed up idiots like us with plenty who looked down their noses at us (especially at Old Trafford and Maine Road) but on this particular occasion at WHL we were in the bar at HT chatting with a few locals and they dropped the bombshell that they never travelled away with Spurs. They stayed at home and went to watch Arsenal on the weeks Spurs were away!

If that really is Harry Kane above then I am not in the least bit surprised.

Deffo him. He has acknowledged it before. I think he was in their youth team or that's the story that came out

He was in the Arsenal Academy at age 8 but released after one season, a decision which Arsene Wenger described as "disappointing".

He had trials with Watford as an 11 year-old, but signed for Spurs at that age.

I have taken a close interest in HK since he was on loan at Leyton Orient, as he had a namesake who was British record-holder at 400m Hurdles in the 1950s, and who had previously been a centre forward on Leyton's books although he never made the first team. He retired at 21 with shoulder problems and turned to athletics. (Hurdling does not seem a good option given the chances of falling at speed.)

I thought initially that it might have been his grandfather and I knew he originated from a Spurs district of North London. This appears not to be the case as his father was born in Galway. Also the older HK was Jewish, and indeed the fastest ever Jew in his event at that time. I have not seen any suggestion that the younger HK has any Jewish roots, or that the elder one had any Irish connection, so I now think it is just one of life's coincidences.
